fucksake. I just spent a fucking hour writing a reply PM to doomkid and the fucker's just deleted his account. See, this is why you bastards can't have nice things. Like me talking to you, instead of just telling you all to fuck off. I spent two hours writing a scathing reply to this thread and my computer hit me with an "oops".. also watch Ousama Ranking it's a good anime. @segfault I think you're ok tbh.. this place at it's peak of an echo chamber made conversations become predictable and well there wasn't much to talk about once politics became more depressing and I needed to focus on other parts of my life that I had more control over.. the only person I have a problem with is not capable of replying to what I have to say so fuck it. |

No not really the same, because he didn't bestow the responsibility of being a mod to you , and then get banned because you're too busy/uncaring to read my side of a story 5 years later. As for Doomkid The lady doth protest too much, methinks I read your side of the story plenty. But repetition of the same grievance over 70 disparate schizo-posts isn't a particularly good way to win anyone over to your side. Also, you were banned for about 17 hours because I couldn't be fucked trying to work out which timezone you were in to make it a full 24. I dunno what to tell you, it was a waste of a postcount, because you're still posting here and I'm still looking at page after page of what-the-fuckery in this very thread. A very strange way for me to ban you when you think about it. |

I'd just like to say one more thing... I am tired of holding a grudge. I wrote on this thread, because I felt similar to how 40oz felt regarding all the crap on discord. If I can apologize to seg, and be forgiven. Then I would do the same for the people who have wronged me. I think it is time for all of us to understand that there are real-life people on the receiving end of these insults. The world sucks, so lets do our best to at least get along here. We are here to make fun games for free. I was hoping this post would at least move us beyond the past. But Doomkid kept on relitigating shit I said in anger/defense in quotes from unconnected past threads. So idk what I'm supposed to do short of committing Seppuku to redeem myself to some people. |

Give it a rest, you've not a clue as to why I behaved as I did. I think it I made it crystal clear. I don't care if people didn't like the mod, but what had me pissed off was that people who are supposed to be contributing members would rather bitch, than be proactive and help make the project better. That's why I acted unfiltered, you obtuse fuck. All of it started with Joe-lyia, but him being banned is what it is. He was a dedicated mapper but a shitty person filled with hatred. I knew he was stirring up shit on discord, because all his compatriots parroted the same talking points. His powerplay to leverage his influence over Doomer Boards has failed. But he has done much damage, and it even has influenced my attitude towards others. That was wrong on my part.

If joe-ilya or Doomkid hypothetically joined my new forum (doubt they would) I would not ban them, or verbally abuse them. I would give them a chance. I believe in forgiveness, because that's the type of person I am. On top of that, this is a hobby, not life and fucking death.
That being said I 100% agree with Joe-lyia being banned on the DB platform. It was the right move for the community.

Everyone needs to shut the fuck up for a minute and stop commanding the thread. I spent a stupid amount of time writing this thread topic and it's really annoying to see so many people avoid the subject all together. I don't care about your gut reactions. I want the problem solved. You can always make your own threads to talk about the things you want to talk about and it's not me who is supposed to prompt you to do it. I'm really getting sick of the deindividuation. Everyone is their own person with their own brain that makes their own decisions. You don't get to be yourself for your group accomplishments when used for good things and reject accountability when its used for bad. If you're in it, you're part of the whole thing whether you like it or not. When you're on this forum, you don't get to take the persona of an outside spectator chastising this place for being always about the drama when you're a member here and those are the only threads you engage in. The community would feel much nicer if you and I were reading more thoughtful posts, more compliments, and seeing more content. Many of you guys are content creators and you do have nice and caring things to say about each other in your discord group. I don't know what I'm doing that compels you to withhold it from the forum and instead use the forum to say shitty things to people outside of the group. Effectively, manifesting what you say is wrong with this place. The forum itself is not creating this culture. You are. Just because there's threads here about feeling rejected for being banned on doomworld, you are absolutely not required to participate in these threads. I didn't wanna do that all the time either, so I started making doom projects called Doomer Boards Project because at the time I started, there wasn't any projects here. It really sucks that some regular ass doom maps have become so astronomical that it towers over the self-worth you have yourself to create your own content on this forum platform that exists only for you to do exactly that. It happened on discord before, and it's happening now again. I see users here adopting "we" language as if you aren't your own person. I am outnumbered by individuals here and my words only go so far. When you're seeking validation when saying destructive things on discord, and then bring that energy over to my forum, you're going to get a shitty dilapidated place. If you discord users wanna cling on to discord and migrate to someone else's forum so you can talk shit about what's going on there, I'm pleased to warn you, you're going to have the same problems elsewhere. |

I signed up here because I like mapping, and wanted to try out a different flavor of community project from what I had previously been used to participating in. The DBP format seemed interesting to me, and as I found out, it really did suit me. I have since participated in three DBPs. On its own in isolation, I have enjoyed participating. Mapping, receiving feedback, giving feedback, testing. There was then a sense of accomplishment after the releases, seeing people in lots of places enjoy the products as a whole, knowing I had a hand in some part of it. But being here and mapping for the DBPs I can not take on its own in isolation. The things going on in this forum, the absolutely vile shit that has been said (and is being said) here by even viler people makes me regret ever signing up as a member in the first place and even associating with this place. Discord has absolutely nothing to do with the state of this place or its community. There is no way around it: Quite frankly and openly to your face, the cause has always in my view been you, 40oz , solely in your role as administrator/moderator. This forum has, and still is, giving people free reign to spout hateful rhetoric as they please; openly stated opinions or snidely sprinkling it around in all corners of this board. Homophobia, transphobia, disparage of the mentally ill, politics, wordsalads of insanity, regurgitated Doomworld hate, petty baby lying about ban reasons, spam and slurs of all kinds abound. I always wondered why it was allowed to exist. Why people like dn, Xeep, Vordakk, Tainted Slav, Deathclaw886, Kontra, Mayhem, Shibainumaster etc. were allowed to splurge so prolifically without moderation, and so profusely color the impression of this board to all that visit and make it an absolutely miserable place both to be in and to try and make sense of. And I keep wondering. I know it is not for a lack of trying on the part of other board members, as evidenced by the many calls for actual moderation (that goes beyond "I think what you are saying is not good") that has appeared in various threads over time here. When telling you directly fails and they resort to other methods as a wake up call and plea to you, you loser (and then ban) some of them. What in the actual...? I also wonder about DBP48 and why that was allowed to happen after the initial drama began and Kontra had his meltdown and started shitting down everyone's throat, including yours (quite a big dump for you). Some misplaced sense of loyalty to founding members? I can not say. And you will not say. You have been absolutely silent when it comes to the behind-the-scenes running of this place when incidents occur and the members of the board are left confused in the dark. You disregard feedback that comes to you in regards to calls for more strict moderation or any form of change in policy. I fail to recollect a time where I have ever seen you give an honest reply to honest feedback, instead always ignoring the point at hand and deflecting to other, to you, more interesting or important subjects. Because it is your way, or because you believe you must adhere to the spirit of the original Dumbworld? And so, I can only assume, the (unmoderated) spiteful state of this board will never change. Your members are bathing in a vat of misery, dripping it all down to their fingertips that type posts here. I have spent time thinking about if I could have done something to improve the situation. Or if I wanted to really participate in other sections of the forum as well, besides the DBP development threads? But no, I saw how nothing anyone else tried worked, and I could not come up with anything new and novel either - and I saw how the other sections were a bubbling, miserable, unmoderated mess to trawl through. I have tried to understand the lack of moderation, but I just can not. It is as if we are realities apart with different laws of...everything. We do not see the world, and the people, and the words on our screen the same way. That is my feedback. I can only advocate (here comes the "solution" you clamor so much for in other replies when people give feedback) for much, much, MUCH harsher moderation on every aforementioned issue. Feel free to do with this feedback as you will, it is just my parting message after all. |
