Doom community happenings

I guess I'll stay in this forum just to read the controversies that happen over at DW and I never learn. I just hate it when they make threads disappear out of existence, because now I don't even know what the fuzz was about. I looked at this Sarais dude in DW and I can only find peaceful posts about map making, so you can't even know why the person was banned and looks bizarre. Then some people cry about the community being toxic, but you don't see those posts so they actually don't make themselves look good. They look more like they are hypersensitive about a "toxicity" that doesn't even seem to exist.

Meanwhile, if I read and participate in the Doom specific posts at DW it's fine, more things happening there concerning the game we love, not much here expect from learning the hidden controversies. I guess this will it be.

40oz and I had detailed conversation about this that I don't need to reveal to appease some jerk at DW. That being said his inaction against Sarais here directly resulted in his ban at DW, that is a fact and I can back it up.

Bullshit. 40 was not banned from DW for the Sarais shitshow.

40 got his papers because he actively engaged with and encouraged debate, something which those horse-piss guzzling spastics at DW simply cannot abide. Bad enough when someone actively questions the ideology - normally they would have simply reached into their bag of tricks and banned him for being offensive etc. but they couldn't in 40's case because he fucking toed the line. He broke no written rules, he was being too fucking polite for them to ban off-hand.

The Sarais episode was simply the excuse for enacting a ban that certain factions within the DW circle-jerk had been agitating for. And it's a fucking sin that they forced him out of the community for alledged behavior that (a) happened off-site and (b) had fuck all to do with doomworld anyway.

40 was banned for wrongthink. Sarais was incidental. I'm all for exposing the fucking cancer that metastasized inside this community, but put on your thunkful face before repeating some bullshit narrative as if it were gospel.

Thanks @gaspe , I knew I remembered something existing. dn while I adore your colourful colourfulness and agree wholeheartedly with what you say, check out the link gaspe provided... that “bullshit narrative” is 40’s own narrative. Then again there is the stated truth and what people who pay attention actually know to be the truth, so you’re not wrong. Pay heed and close attention children, it’s a rough world out there.

That's awesome!  Jimmy did a few tracks for me for Flashback to Hell, and I've used a few of his other tracks in various other projects.  He's super-talented.  I remember when I first heard his stuff in Reverie and I knew he was a great musician.

I think he's bailed on the community for the time being like so many others. I never thought it would happen but shit, here we are.
