Cacowards 2023 Doom's 30th Birthday

Hello everyone. Honestly, I don't understand why you give so much importance to being recognized in the CACOWARDS when it's clear that they do these things and ignore you for unfounded reasons.



For example, when I started mapping, (always have the hope that 'if I keep doing well' maybe one year I could also get a mention in the cacowards).


But now that I've learned about all the shady dealings in their selection process, not just from what you say here but from what I've seen in different communities, I wouldn't give it much importance.

YOUR WORK IS EXCEPTIONAL and those who play your projects will see it. And those who don't want to see it, well, that's their loss.



It's not worth the trouble.

I'm gonna subject everyone to my take.
Though I disagree with Essel's opinion on the place, everyone is entitled to one, and the people here haven't been much kinder to Essel on the flipside. A lot of the vitriol thrown at her direction on occasions when she said nothing has been uncalled for.. the laundering insult was astleast funny to read out loud tbh.

On the subject of Doomkid, I appreciate his kind words towards me when I returned to Doom.   I'm not going to defend everything he may have done, but he has shown the ability to have a heated argument with people here and make peace and chill out afterwards.   I'm not one to turn on anyone who has been kind to me.   So I'll leave it at that.  That's much better than I can say for most of the rest of the Doomworld staff who would never allow things to play out as such and are afraid to debate here.   Scuba Steve had the guts to come here too but seems to be rather insulated in some obviousness, though his skin isn't as thick as he likes to put on.   I don't even know if he's still an active mod, but I have no beef with Fraggle.   He may have modded my posts a little but I have no hard feelings towards him and have heard nothing of him abusing or really wronging anyone.




Oh yeah, I'm supposed to bring the hammer down on tyrants and ill-behaved pets with every post on this topic.   Though some mercy shall be granted for improvements in behavior.   Those who have doubled, tripled, and quadrupled down on slandering and abusing people are still screwed.

Essel was also kind and patient towards me, though I think at the time I was too distraught at my baby getting edited to realize it ;D.. without remembering it was gonna be part of BtSX which was also Essel's baby.

The Occupy Wall Street thread devolving into insults ruined everything tbh, after that everyone became an activist and shifted into different camps and doubled down with their interactions with eachother becoming more hostile. I wasn't exactly helping either tho.. but I did start to read the room before it was too late.
