The baron mini-maze is a thing I made before in the map I made for Doom2Redux MAP32 but I wanted to do it a little again and it's much easier and less masochistic/sadistic here lol. Cyberdemon thing I just made up and implemented on the spot so that's a neato idea :y

FDA for Phobus' map. Recorded in GZDoom 3.2.0. Great little clean techbase map with tough gameplay. Sweet layout, great choice of weaponry and monsters, awesome thing placement, superb lighting, tasteful udmf effects. Played like a dumbarse in the first go, tried to brute force it the next few, and finally almost completed it successfully until that cunt rocket got me to which I then resurrected. Loved it, fantastic job bro. SHORT SPACE SHOCK:

FDA for memfis' map. Recorded in prboom+ Great memfis map in that tasty memfy style with that awesome iwad texture usage plus some. Tasteful item and monster placement as per usual. Loved the EP3 vibes at the start. Loved the drop stairs in the grassy area. Loved the area reminiscent of E2M4. I don't know how you pull a map like this off in a short amount of time! When are we getting Doom the way memfis does? Hook me up brother! Didn't finish, movement a bit funny because my mouse was not set up properly, but no excuses. I'm thinking that because this is the first such event here on the Boards and there are only a handful of maps that we could make a new special deadline period ending in a day or two from now. Then we can get 40oz on board and anyone else who may have a map inside them dying to get out. joe and Cupcake stand behind this idea too.

I'm thinking that because this is the first such event here on the Boards and there are only a handful of maps that we could make a new special deadline period ending in a day or two from now. Then we can get 40oz on board and anyone else who may have a map inside them dying to get out. joe and Cupcake stand behind this idea too. ah alright ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ just one thing tho: please don't use that extended deadline to make maps you spent >24 hrs on EDIT: So I'll start compiling on Tuesday, to make sure that everyone's maps are bugfixed and all that.

^ <3 OK playing the maps rn (QZDoom w/ GL renderer for Phobus's map, PrBoom+ software for everyone else): joe-ilya difficult af the stupid Spectres were very hard to see also the final reveal of 1488 more monsters was imo completely unnecessary, you could've left it at the bunch of imps on that island; it's very tricky to jump from the last lilypad onto the island good visuals and cool secrets tho 8/10
@memfis holy cow, incredible the caves were amazing, especially that waterfall, there was something so cool about it the techbase was cool as well, so blue and so sexy i ran out of ammo by the time i got to the yellow door tho 9/10 walterc died to the gay-vile too many times so couldn't be bothered to complete the map, sorry also hitscanners all over the place very big contrast between tech and hell, noice going thru the teleporter, then going back for the key and then to the teleport again is kinda silly tbh 7/10
MegaPancakeStrategist tf is this ew, gay-viles ew, difficult fight with barons of gayness (naturally, i didn't beat the map) tight funky blue visuals 6/10
@phobus cool UDMF magic effects, like the swinging water and lighting and 3d floors and stuff pleasant to look at dunno if 100% kills is achievable?? not too difficult 9/10

If you're going to upload the compilation to /idgames, please don't include my map. It is now a part of a Russian megawad in progress and I don't want it to appear twice on the archives.

You can include it for personal use, but please don't upload it to /idgames because it will appear there as a part of another wad in the future. I just don't like when there are duplicates on the archive.

Yes, I'm totally ok with that!
I don't really want to modify it, I feel like it's essentially complete already.
It often happens to me that during speedmapping sessions I create something unexpectedly good (I think the time limit really helps me because I stop worrying about trivial stuff and can just map) and then decide to use it in a "more serious" project. Sorry if this seemed dorky or whatever.

Ok, I've played everybody's maps. Here's my thoughts: @memfis : Best map of the set, so it's a shame it's got a new home elsewhere. It feels quite E2 to begin with, but then departs from the theme when it heads to the more outdoors/natural area. I liked how I could pick up keys and not get ambushed - very refreshing. The music struck me as quite bizarre! walterc : This reminded me of MAYhem 2012, what with the recoloured E2 textures and "walterc" speed mapping feel. The layout and architecture was quite free-form, so I found the very strange progression an odd inclusion, although with the teleporting back and forth it did have a feel of E2M1 to it. Enemy placement reflected the rushed nature of the map, with homogenous clumps in each room. Not bad, for a quick effort. @joe-ilya: A spiteful start, but the map isn't too rough, otherwise. I'm not sure it really conformed to the themes, instead being recognisably one of your works (from my previous experience). Really not sure about the piano piece playing as a BGM. The end of the map felt weaker than the start, with a cacodemon stuck in it's opening hole. @xeep-Eep: I had to crouch to get up the first staircase to come level with the HellKnights. Very rough around the edges, with a lot of moving parts that don't do an obvious thing when you activate them. The jump into the dark pit (housing a Revenant and Demon) and a similar thing with a chaingunner seemed unfair, compared to the rest of the map, but again, not bad for the time I assume was spent. MegaPancakeStrategist : I didn't like this one, to be honest. Both visually and with how the gameplay was designed to just kill the unaware player... I felt like I was being fucked about, so was glad it was short and I could just resurrect through. Doomkid: Nice video - it's interesting to see somebody who knows what they're doing hammer out a map in reasonable time. A shame you didn't actually make something for the project, though

@xeep-Eep: I had to crouch to get up the first staircase to come level with the HellKnights. That's strange. Crouching should not be required anywhere. Perhaps you've missed something? Memfis's FDA for my map might help in that case, he did everything as intended.

They were just slightly too cramped to walk up easily in GZDoom. There may not actually be a technical problem, more of a "look and feel" thing.
