I'm not using my status to pretend I'm the hot shit or something. I know I'm a shitty mapper and not even half as good as Cuppy or Lunchlunch or any other veteran mapper on this forum. I hate him because he's an NPC who supports leftist narratives and talks like he's angry for no reason most of the time and bans people for dumb reasons. I voluntarily left his stupid server because of this. If I really thought I'm 'more important than others' then I'd say something like'IF JEW-ILYA COMES BACK I'LL LEAVE THIS FORUM FOREVER AND YOU'LL NEVER SEE MY MAGNIFICENT MAPS EVER AGAIN!!!'. But you know better of course. I don't understand why you'd care so much about any of those things. Honestly, as a person who doesn't know either of you, you kina remind me of him. Weirdly intense about random shit. Ah, Let's just say the intensity you both have is an expression of passion. To hell with this stupid ass argument, who cares for how long he was a member here if his only contribution was catastrophically retarded posts. Like did he make any maps/midis/artwork? No? Then why should I care? You don't make any maps, midis, you don't draw artwork. So this is not you using your status as a mapper to act you are more important? I understand the points people are making about joe ilya, and i agree with them as reasons someone would be unbanned/welcome here.
I'm afraid my reasons for banning him are a bit more personal.
Many people see his 'personality' as abrasive, which looks like a character trait when posting in public. I was able to look past this for as long as I could until he was a remarkable asshole towards me in private where no one else sees it.
For a long time I've seen joeilya as misunderstood and treated unfairly. And joe used that part of me to his advantage. I'm not really sure how to explain this to a reader who is not someone who feels pressure to be recognized in the greater doom community but I'll try my best.
People like glenzinho (if you were around for him) are largely responsible for why I have a lot of reservations about sharing leadership roles for DBP with other people.
I designed DBP for this forum. I want people here to have something doom-related to do other than talk shit about people and other communities. The project's relative success has been seen by some participants as an opportunity to elevate it towards greater goals. Goals of perhaps, it's mappers reclaiming an untarnished reputation that allows them access to more gated parts of the doom community.
People power-tripping on leadership roles (however small they may be) is largely what this thread is about, so it makes sense that joe ilya would be referenced here.
Joe ilya assumed a leadership role in his own doomer boards titled discord channel. Moderating it to his own discretion, he could use doomer boards forum while also acting as though this forum is beneath him.
His posting on this forum was increasingly aggressive and rude towards other members and myself, and his discord gave refuge to people who would eventually start doing the same.
I realize this forum is a really low bar for participation, but i really don't want people posting here if they don't actually like it here. I don't want to be dealing with people who would definitely rather be elsewhere if they were allowed, and they act as though this forum is a jail because i dont excessively moderate this forum to other people's likings so they can climb the social ladder again. If I have a threshold for banning people, its that.
I didn't know joe to be this type of person before but the amount of patience and benefit of the doubt ive given him really burned me later on. I dont really have a way to know that he's changed but I can't imagine that allowing him to post here again would be seen as anything other than an opportunity to use me to get ahead again.

There's no freedom on the internet anymore, except for small forums / communities like this one and I think it sucks. As for the reason why I'm acting like such an insufferable cunt here is because I'm having problems IRL and I don't enjoy vidya gaemz as much as when I was a teenager. Lol, you got me. In general I just hate any community that makes politcs a too big part of their community.
