So now Trump is blowing DeSantis out of the water in the polls post-indictment.
This is going to be a really, REALLY crazy-ass election coming up.
Like I said, I was a Trump-voter in the past two generals, and the 2015 GOP primary.
Frankly, even I didn't except his popularity to surge after this. But maybe I should have paid attention more, because it actually makes sense.
Alvin Bragg is a very controversial ultra-left wing DA in Manhattan, the likes of Chesa Boudin, in San Francisco. Who regularly allows repeat violent offenders, to enter and exit the prison-system like a revolving door. He became infamous when he tried to accuse a bodega owner of murder, in an incident caught on tape which was actually self-defense in a robbery. Public outcry made Bragg change the decision. This guy is doing this purely for political reasons. Of course that's going to galvanize the Trump-base.
That being said, I don't think Trump is the best choice at all, and I would have rather see DeSantis instead. But it doesn't look like it is going to pan out that way.

American politics be like "party of actual Illuminati lizard people" vs "party of actual crayon-eating retards". I wanna say that sucks, but it doesn't, because you guys have had it coming for a long time and it's merely a manifestation of cosmic justice.
That said, Desantis seems like a cool guy. I watched his recent interview with Piers Morgan and he seems like a really down to earth dude. Young too, which is a big plus when compared Trump and Biden. Biden also has dementia while Trump is still reasonably based although he's getting old too.
Speaking of Piers, he's gone through a redemption arc of sorts recently. He used to be the most unlikable journalist I've ever seen, but after he got slammed for being an ass to Andrew Tate he kind of fixed himself. I like watching him on occasion now.

Edit: Did want to mention that despite me saying DeSantis is somewhat an unknown in how he will handle certain things we do have some insight with his congressional voting record. Not something I've spent any time looking at since it's unlikely, especially at this point that he will be a able to compete with Trump. If he does become a realistic contender I'll certainly be taking a closer look but I don't think that's in the cards at this point. |

But I was under the impression that the Wall Street Journal was like the Financial Times, i.e: an august institution with its finger on the pulse of the markets, a paper with an entire business & stock market section, you know... the sort of paper that is impossible to bankrupt because it's the fucking propaganda arm of american capitalism, with a history of so much insider trading and financial gayops that money has become functionally irrelevant to them. |

I'm going to relinquish my vote to the other category (you can do that!)
I still like DeSantis, but I don't think he will win over Trump. However, if Tucker Carlson ran, I think I would vote for him over Trump.
Imagine Carlson/DeSantis 2024
There's no way Trump would take DeSantis. But it would be possible for Carlson.
I think Tucker would beat Trump in a debate.
Or even
Trump/Carlson would be a possibility. But never, Carlson/Trump, VP is out of the question obviously for a former President.
Frankly, I think Carlson/DeSantis would be strong enough to defeat Biden/Harris, and be the more ideal scenario imho.
Imagine the future after 8 years of Tucker Carlson, and 8 years of Ron DeSantis. It would be glorious.

You know, it is interesting, despite not gaining as much as expected, the Republicans do have a lot of strong personalities people can rally around. That is something this is definitely lacking in the Democrats. The last person they had for that was Obama.

We can't really expect any democrats to stand out in this cycle since Biden is the incumbent, is running and even if that wasn't the case the party/media would shut out anyone they don't want anyway. Everyone running on their side would either be doing it solely on principle or for personal gain like name recognition, book sales or such. Having said that there really are some good voices coming from the right. Hell, I even like a lot of Ramaswamy's ideas and hope he gets on-boarded in some capacity by whoever gets the nomination.

@kontrakommando I remember you talking about Tucker as a potential presidential candidate like way back ago lmfao. He seems like an alright guy but like many American conservatives he falls into the """woke""" bashing pit too much. Which is understandable -- it riles up the audience and is basically a cheat code for more views. It's a mystery how would he fare in politics, which makes him the ideal running mate for Trump if you think about it.
Either way I hope the Republicans win. Biden's ratings are very low and the democrats seem intent of having the guy run a second term. Does he know, I wonder?
