this morning I saw a topic on doomworld about a cringe moderator issued warning but i can't find it now Anonymous moderator issued a temp ban / warning for Shitposting. Said shitposter had reacted to a post with a Pepe meme, earning the ire of the very brave but unknown moderator, because Pepe is Haram. Questions, re: the position of frogs on the political compass come from the proletariat -- a stunning and beautiful person rides to defense of his helpless and mysterious moderator waifu, helpfully posting a link to the ADL - Frogs are Alt-Right Dog Whistle, Kept as Pets by Nazis. Mockery follows because it's a fuckin frog, bro. Further questions from glorious comrade shitposters are asked, such as "Can we use the OK emoticon or will it kill black people?" Entire thread suddenly vanishes down the memory hole, because the Cringe was fucking prophetic. 10/10 thread, I really enjoyed it. Imagine letting the ADL-with as much internet-cred as your grandma, an organization led around at the cunthairs by 4chan trolls, dictate your forum policy because you're too fucking stupid to use your own brain for context. What a bunch of retards. |

to be honest, so far i dont really see how this is different from doomworld, ive been seeing a bunch of toxic posts and ones that just dont make any sense to me, is this how generation z talks? i know im gen z but im so out of touch with my own generation, i feel like more of a gen x instead, im like the boomer of my own generation (which is also funny because i call gen z "these kids", not realizing at the moment that im talking about my own generation) im sorry, but i just dont see the appeal of this place. you say you are the hardcore alternative of doomworld, but i just dont see that, it just seems like a toxic cesspool, like 4ch...[dont say it!]
anyay, 4oz, i see you are a nice person, and i apoligize for badmouthing your forum, the toxicity isnt your fault, this is my opinion.
and this is probably the only thread on this forum that i comment on (or anything else with mushroom)

40oz does contribute to toxicity as well, the reason being his "holier than thou" attitude, so you are wrong to exclude him. That being said, a lot of people post toxic stuff on the own and would continue to do so even without his contributions, or despite them. joe-ilya and xeepeep posts here (in this thread) are another examples of toxicity (of a different kind), and sure here it was not 40oz who made them post it, quite the contrary, he couldn't convince them to stop. By toxic I mean actions that don't just harm others, but also bring out the worst side of them and so provoke them to act in harmful ways as well. One should keep in mind that saying certain things may provoke retaliation, or even entrench the opposing views (opposing to what one is trying to promote). And the "hardcore alternative" is a joke, this forum is about people being able to debate from very opposing viewpoints without being silenced, something that is no longer possible on doomworld.

Just a little reminder for myself so that I don't accidentally clarify where you got me wrong in the previous message: I also don't think you were toxic, @xeep-Eep ,magicmushroomman is so overly sensitive that he made an account here just to vent about his short 2 day suspension, not even a full-on ban. He can have his safe fun at r/doom and the Facebook Doom group, where nobody will criticize him, because that's where he belongs. You will never know what you blew with this post, but you blew it. Saves me a lot of effort I was going to spend on something, now I don't, and you don't even deserve to know what it was. Also, I am not on Mushroom's side but rather on my own, and I consider the things you said in the quote above to be unacceptable regardless of what Mushroom now thinks about you. |

Somebody was "punished" on Doomworld and tries to connect to people on a forum containing more than a few users in the same position. I don't see why anybody should ever insult, or degrade him or her for that. The last bit happened and could be seen as "toxic". This thread is a mess and most of it could have been avoided.

i totally agree, ive been suspended again for people thinking somebodys other account was my alt account just because they were defending me on the whole topic bumping issue. and now i cant even look at the site until December 5th. these moderators are horrible at doomworld, so is redneckerz, because he is the one always getting me suspended to begin with. well, at least people dont silence others opinions on this forum. im actually running my own forum as well, called Doom Haven, and its going to be the ultimate non-toxic forum. i will be very strict when it comes to choosing moderators (and moderators of different ranks) and if one gets ban happy, i will revoke their moderator privileges. i, along with the other good moderators, will make sure that we have no toxic members. i will give them a warning first, but if they continue being toxic, i will suspend or ban them, but only if it is really necessary, and with good cause as well. we will have no toxicity at Doom Haven, we will have no politics at Doom Haven, and we will have no pretentious snobs at Doom Haven. here is the link to Doom Haven, but keep in mind, if you are toxic on my forum, you will either change your ways, or be banned, toxicity is not condoned here. doomhaven.proboards.com/ |

I think the statement you quoted can be trusted, but it is an issue of trust rather than a fact, the post about shitstorm can be read ambigously as the (non)defense of previous behaviour.

Yes, the post count being the reason for suspension on DW is speculation and likely to be untrue.
I remember I also did check the guy's history to see if there are any problematic posts, at first there seemed like one, but then I realized it was an obvious joke and had to scrap my theory (there is an edited post, some people might have actually seen the garbage I wrote before I deleted it). After that, I came to conclusion that is best not to speculate anymore and honestly admit that one can't read the mind of DW staff. Also, posting speculations is merely an outlet for "the need to say something, give advice or sound smart" or "here is a thread I must absolutely reply to even if I have no real knowledge on subject".

You mean on doomworld? Yes I'm banned there, got banned for changing my username, more than a year after my last actual post. I think this week marks the 1st anniversary of my ban even. The titles are purely a matter of post count. The members from 2018 you see just shitpost a lot, like kids tend to do, and reach the required threshold (1000 posts I think) in a short period of time. |
