I also don't think you were toxic, @xeep-Eep ,magicmushroomman is so overly sensitive that he made an account here just to vent about his short 2 day suspension, not even a full-on ban.
He can have his safe fun at r/doom and the Facebook Doom group, where nobody will criticize him, because that's where he belongs.

dn that's awesome. I would have loved reading that upon joining here the other day. I got into DOOM mods via 4chan's retro video game board /vr/. What's funny to me is that even there when Doomer Boards gets brought up, sometimes an anon will ask a hesitant question about this place being some mysterious alt-right shithole (though other anons seem to hold DB and DBPs in particular in good esteem). I came here and didn't see anything particularly distasteful so I'm not sure why you guys have the reputation you do.

Personally I would just suggest sticking to this site. Doomerboards reminds me of Doomworld when I joined albeit smaller. While I can still post on Doomworld if I really wanted to, I don't care to, I barely post anything here and DW is a cesspool of rather pointless posts and egotistical scumbags.

I hesitate to use words like toxic or alt right. It's not a politics issue, obviously. We had to go off and start our own forum with blackjack and hookers primarily because we were being treated unfairly at doomworld. That's the very heart of the problem. We were given some form of punishment we didn't feel we deserved.
It's lame-o when members here treat new members with that same kind of disrespect presumably because that's the way they might have been treated when they first entered the doom community. It really doesn't help to distinguish this forum in anyway when there are assholes on both sides.

Heh, it's funny how today 4chan is still this spooky boogeyman site like it's darkweb shit or something. And from my experience it's almost only people who know nothing about the site that think that. End of digression.
The way this thread turned out demonstrates nicely why I don't think 40oz's "all doomers welcome" policy will ever work. When everyone is given a voice, it attracts a certain type of people who scare away everyone else. I'm not sure. I like this "all doomers welcome" policy, with due moderation presence which is always needed if things get really out of hand. I think people got more and more used to just wait to the mods to delete/lock whenever something they don't like gets posted while you can, you know just ignore it, or fight back since this permissive way of running things allows it.
I hope xeepeep won't take what I said too seriously, I know you can be serious when you want and imo you did nothing wrong here. Knowing the character helps to know how to take the posts. Joe is right that this user would fit better in a cesspit place like reddit or facebook if he gets so upset as soon as something doesn't go like he wanted. I already said this but let it be mem  die-hard-haters of this place will be perpetually mad and nothing will change that. Even if for some things I think it's justified but from what I saw even if you disagree with 99% of things said here (especially about actual politics and not forum wars/drama) but apparently DB is one person. |

Doom-themed 4chan knockoff I don't know why 4chan is still being brought up as ultimate badwrong evil place when it's just a fucking anonymous anime board for girls forum (though you can ID yourself anyway) that doesn't allow more than 15 pages of topics in a particular themed sub-forum. Also it has fairly rude userbase, but that's barely a problem. |

Now, it's not necessarily a problem but it shows why I don't see DB getting rid of the alt-right/4chan/whatever reputation despite 40oz's wishes. It's ironic considering that we have members of diverse opinions. We're not an echo chamber like DW that bans users because "they said something that triggered us." We actually allow diverse opinions and for debate (which is why this forum exists). I really don't get how that is considered alt-right or 4chan. DB admin is openly left leaning, but I respect the man because he doesn't drop a impulsively ban hammer on someone who disagrees with his views. |

bulletspam, I'm surprised it lived that long. It all started with a person given a warning for shitposting they simply needed to acknowledge, and that will expire in a few days, with commentary what exactly action he did qualifies as such. But some people at DW actually managed to say moderator who did this deserves criticism (someone even called it a criminal offense, and even stated a list of what moderator is guilty, which included terrorism), which may be the reason it is gone - the staff doesn't what it to be known that DW members actually disagree with a lot of what staff does. And some disagree quite strongly. I didn't bother to archive or screenshot it, I've seen the confirmation of what I wanted to see anyway. DW members != DW staff. Don't mistake actions of a few lunatics in power for collective consciousness. EDIT: I see dn keeped eye on the thread at least a little longer than I did.

Also, this isn't an "alt-right" forum. This is a Doom forum, populated by the same kind of people in DW. I don't see anyone posting anything racist. In any rare case that someone actually does post something like that, it has been dealt with by the moderation staff. We sometimes just have more light-hearted, and goofy threads that would probably get closed on DW. We have people that support Trump, but we also have people that dislike him too. Which is the same dynamic you see in every social-forum in reality. I think accusations against us, are just by miserable malcontents that have supreme hatred in their hearts and minds.

Then dew (of course he) in his stupid manner said there's nothing that is anti-anti, there is pro (calling anti-antifa pro-facism). And the guy above replied: "You can't just call yourself antifacist when you behave like a true fascist and destroy cities" (can't remember what he exatly said, but general idea was like this).
I swear I'll never step on Everything Else again.
