www.dailystar.co.uk/tech/gaming/friday-13th-game-servers-not-22324490look, it made the news. I really do enjoy this game, the fan-base in terms of dedication, are remincient of the Doom community, imo. There's a lot toxic ppl that play, and annoying assholes that use exploits, and cheat. But in a way, it is an aspect that makes it all more interesting.

another entry in the book of dmdr's eggcycling tales!!!!!! I took my new bike off road for the first time yesterday, which makes this the first time I've been cycling off-road since, uh, probably 1997. My bike's mostly a road bike but has a steel frame and fatter tyres than typical for the type so I figured she'd be able to take a bit of a caning. I was ultimately a little disappointed though since the fuckin headset, aka the thing that holds the handlebars on, came loose. Fortunately one of the first accessories I bought was a little toolkit so I was able to tighten it up on the spot but, uh, not good. Time will tell if this is a defect of the bike or if it just came from the shop not quite tight enough (hopefully the latter). Other than that, it was fun! I feel a bit beaten up today since off-road is a completely different kettle of fish; riding on even pretty steep roads is nowhere near as hard as trying to beast it up a rocky path, and I was only in the park for about half an hour before I pussied out. Another thing that was interesting is the trail grading estimates in the parklands are accurate for bikes; I used to go walking a lot a few years ago when I was underemployed and could go off on adventures without having to think too much about it, and if you see a sign saying 'intermediate walk' it means 'your grandma could easily do it (even if she's dead)' and 'easy' means 'has fuckin escalators and coolies to carry your stuff for you', while if you're biking intermediate means intermediate and easy means still pretty tough if you're going uphill. Anyway, no more intermediate trails til I toughen up a bit is what I'm saying. Today it's raining so I did the bike mechanic thing. My brake pads were rubbing against the rotors which was loud, annoying, and made things harder than it should be so I sorted those out ( it's fiddlier than the video I watched promised but not too bad). I also got the gear changes working properly again -- the cable was a bit loose so I tightened it up (easy once I figured out what a 'barrel adjuster' was. I am a retard btw) and now it's running nicely, I took it for a test ride despite the drizzle and there was no reluctance to change gears, even on hills, and lovely silent running too, so I'm quite pleased with myself all told.

Ah, biking I have a mountain bike, sadly it's about 14 kg or more (also due to legally required accessories). For me right now, riding a bumpy gravel road of 3 kilometres with a continuous 9% slope is barely faster than walking. I feel like I'm moving the pedals just to budge the wheels ahead. And it feels scary to hit bumps and potholes, as it can sometimes lose balance if I don't go fast enough. Maybe I should learn to ride by standing, so I can use a faster gear. I also have a kick scooter which I use when I want to go somewhere else, then hike the hills by foot (no need to worry about pulling the bike with me). I find the kick scooter more fun because it's almost indestructible and zero-maintenance, but understandably it can't be used on rocky gravel roads, and braking one while descending an asphalt road feels like braking a train which won't stop...

It's definitely partially the fault of the hacker, but Gun Media also owns some of the responsibility to service a product you paid for that is, at the very baseline, usable. Over a week is a really long time to drop the ball like this.

I'm really liking it, though I would wait for it to be on a steam sale. I picked it up for $5, and I'm really enjoying it. I recommend it, especially if you have some buddies to coordinate with. Though it can be fun alone, and with random strangers coordinating as well.

geez dude, what kind of shit do they make you strap to your bike? Mine weighs less than that even with water bottle etc. and it's a not-extremely high grade steel bike, ie. heavy (approx 12.5kg unloaded). If you're rocking a more common aluminium frame then there must be like 4kg stuck to it, which is pretty ridiculous.
Also it took me ages to figure out what you meant by 'kick scooter' since there's no way anyone would be enough of a maniac to ride one of these up a hill, or down one as you say, but, uh, I'm glad you're enjoying it!
Alright I'll now talk about myself. Took the bike out on the hills again today, taking a more direct route to the park this time, and knackered myself before I even got there by trying to ride up a pretty fuckin steep road. After I got up to the top of the hill it was fun though, at least until I misread a sign and ended up on an intermediate track again -- actually the very same one that convinced me to stay off intermediate tracks last time, although I didn't recognise it at first since I approached it from the opposite direction -- and went off my bike when I was trying to go round a hairpin turn. Fortunately my natural cowardice meant I wasn't going very fast and the worst that happened was I got a long but shallow scratch on my leg. After I lay on the ground and reflected on my life choices for a while I turned back and investigated what looked like a different, easier track, at which point I skidded on a patch of wet grass, fell off again, and decided to go home lest the trend continue. I lasted about 45 mins this time. Nothing shook loose this time which was good, although I now think the bike might be a little tall for off-road riding, at least relative to my legs; perhaps I should have gotten a medium instead of a large but the bike is very comfy to ride for the most part, at least on the roads where sudden stops are less necessary and I can keep my feet on the pedals. There's currently a fashion for putting '650B' sized wheels on so called gravel bikes which are a bit smaller than the 700C standard for roadies, which would lower my centre of gravity a bit and (possibly) make sharper turns a bit less fraught, so a pair of those might be worth investing in for weekend warrior purposes.

Fuck knows what the degenerate built the fort for, that's between him and God, just something spooky for you all to observe... Next door to me...

If anything I'd argue that the absurdity of it warrants shitposting tbh, not everyone can say a pedophile built a bunker next door and be completely serious when saying it, the inherent lunacy of such a topic is actually amazingly funny.
In a bad way, like R Kelly trying to recruit Ethiopian women to join his sex cult on a live stage, inherently funny but in the absurd way.

mrthejoshmon, if it's fine by you, then yes. However, you were really concerned that this happened close to you, which why I thought jokes would not be appropriate here. Also, I saw animals on the picture, so I suspected some really horrible things may have happened there - beyond even pedophilia.
