I'm think about getting it, because I really do enjoy movies like Blade Runner. Initially I recall there were some major issues. But now I see there's very positive recent reviews on steam. Does anyone have it?
$60 bucks still feels like more money than I want to spend. I'm looking to see what kind of sales come down the line.

from what i gathered by watching a couple of jewtubers, one relatively honest and one a self-admitted shill: the story isn't amazing material (since you mentioned blade runner or the cyberpunk classics, it's not that), it's not much of an rpg but still better than witcher 3 i guess, not much of a gta either... but at least it basically functions as a game

Just pirate it and buy it if you like it.

I have it and completed it a while back. It isn't a $60 game. Not even close. Definitely suggest waiting until it is on sale for far less.
If you feel like running around a city completing the usual random quests for people/finding unique weapons then you might have fun with it.
I have not really experienced the game in its current state. No idea what state it is currently in.

I cannot comment about the price, but my friend who loves this game, says that - yes - the new patches really fixed the crap that was there to begin with.
Whether you enjoy this type of game in the first place - that's a different question.

I'm a fan of open-world RPGs.
I think I'll pick it up next time it goes on sale.
Frankly, $40 is the most anyone should pay for a video game. imo

The old glitch compilation videos from when it was new are freaking hilarious.
I got the impression that when got they Keanu Reaves on board, they made the major mistake of throwing away a lot of what they had, and quick trying to transform it to be somewhat more around his character shoehorned in without making sure shit worked right and rushed it. I don't see it being any fault of Keanu, because I doubt he made any specific demands and they just handled everything poorly. They also did some really deceptive underhanded marketing of it. But with this much time passed and them still working on it, I'd guess things are remedied pretty well.

So what is the gameplay like for Cyberpunk 2077, in terms of freedom of choice, and RPG?
Can I be like an ex-military alcoholic serial killer that collects eyeballs, while working a day-job as an garbage truck driver?

Man, most modern RPGs forget what the genre really is about. There are no stakes, no risk of failure, no real choices and consequences. There is a sense of freedom in some of them, but then the quests and actions you take are repetitive and uninspired. And to add to that, the sense of progression and growth is hardly ever done the way it's supposed to be. Even the overhyped and overglorified Witcher 3 doesn't hold a candle to something like the original Gothic games (only the first two). And if you want to get your mind blown as to what an actual role playing video game should be, i highly recommend playing the mod for Gothic 2 Gold, called Chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos, which puts to shame every RPG release since 2002.

I hate when some NPCs are unkillable because they're "Central to the main storyline". The storyline should be maliable to whatever the player chooses. That maybe be difficult to construct, but a worthy endeavor imo.

Almost bought this without waiting for the sale, but decided against it because it is probably just due to the fact I had some maker's mark. Best to be frugal.
Also, if it goes on sale for half price in the near future, I'm going to feel like a real asshole.
Also, I'll be done with my T-break by then, and it will be more enjoyable high than tipsy.

Uh... Wouldn't it be easier to just PIRATE it and buy it if you liked the game, just like good-old suggested? What's the point of buying a game in hopes it will be good when you can 'buy' it for FREE and then decide if the game is worth paying for? This way you don't have to wait until it goes on sale or whatever...

Most of my paycheck goes to maxing out pre-tax investments, & pension contributions, and bills. The little bit of chump change I have afterwards to spend on fun needs to be spent wisely. Also I wouldn't really know how to pirate it, and don't really mind dropping $30. Plus I want to ensure that there's stability with the game, with future updates and stuff. So I'm not really hip to the idea of pirating it.

Of course it's easy for us because we do that stuff all the time, but for someone who doesn't know anything about it, they would have to get over some hurdles. Removing the negative connotation that comes with piracy about viruses, finding trusted sources to eliminate the chances of getting viruses, getting a torrent client, and probably a few more that I can't remember. So I guess it's understandable that he doesn't wanna learn the ways of the pirate just for one game.

Also since I have limited SSD space (250 GB most of which hosts my OS and other necessities; thus only 97 GBs currently available ), it will be the only one I will have room for too. I have a 1 TB (HDD) with 850 GBs free on my D drive, but apparently that isn't worth shit in the new age of gaming.

Waiting on the next 50% off sale.
I could buy it, but it is the principle of it now. I would hate to buy it and then it goes on sale the next day.

www.cdkeys.com/cyberpunk-2077-ultimate-edition-pc-gogWhat is this? I can get it 50% off here. EDIT: Grey area? I don't want to one day not be able to play this fucking game for some unforeseen reason. EDIT 2: I don't feel like getting it on another platform like GOG.

www.pcgamer.com/developers-tell-people-to-pirate-their-games-instead-of-using-g2a/That shit is worse than piracy, just wait for the sale or if you're reeeally impatient, ask a friend who pirates modern games to send you the game, it's quite popular so you shouldn't have a problem finding it even without being a regular pirate. Edit: GOG is better than Steam, the monopoly is pretty much the only reason to use Steam, because most other games and gaymers use it.

Edit: GOG is better than Steam, the monopoly is pretty much the only reason to use Steam, because most other games and gaymers use it. GOG's no-DRM policy discourages many game studios, especially when it comes to new content. So their library will never be as rich as that of Steam. However, for what's available - it is almost always better to use GOG.

Just my opinion, but if no-DRM stops a game studio from putting a game somewhere, it probably also indirectly leads to quality control, speaking of which, Steam's crappy quality control probably has a big part in making the library so big. I'm not sure if it's deserving of the word "rich".

It is a good thing I investigated this, because I would be super pissed off if my steam account got banned. Or I buy a code that get's my credit card info stolen.
Even on legit platforms you need to be careful.
Friday the 13th:The Game was fucking completely broken for over a year, but they still sold it on steam.
Fallout 3 and Manhunt were incompatible with modern operating systems, requiring you to fix it with modifications made by fans.
I recall buying Double Dragon the arcade version on Xbox back in the day, and one day it was unplayable because they lost the rights.

I've bought many keys from G2A over the years and the worst thing that happened was two of the games were removed from my account. Because of this I didn't think to warn you about it, that was my bad. Based on my understanding you'd have to do some pretty specific things to get banned, but paying $30 for a game only to have it removed sucks. Your CC won't get stolen, I just pay through Paypal. I try to use virtual credit cards for online purchases whenever possible. GOG is nice, but the majority of the time I'll just grab a torrent of whatever GOG release I want.
