Will do. I have some ideas I'd like to try out, so we'll see if I can't shape it into something playable over the next few days. I'm a bit of a snail though, when it comes to mapping.A bit of a snail, you say? More like a glacier. Long story short, a lot of things got in the way, and the world apparently went crazy while I was pissing around not mapping. At any rate, here's MAP10: Baptism of Fire. ...In which our hero tries to find his way out of a long-decommissioned Thermocline Substation™ which supplies and stores coolant for the gargantuan powerplants of the future past. It's probably not a good sign that the coolant itself has the temperature of molten rock, and nor is it swell that the workforce are zombiefied gimps intent on your destruction. The map, which is slow-paced and hopefully spooky, introduces Arachnotrons, is full of ultra-violent imagery and while it sure looks like a rust covered industrial site on Earth, something is very, very wrong. There's a custom .midi file included (which started out as Black Magic by Slayer, if I recall correctly). Skill levels are all implemented and thoroughly tested from pistol start. The map plays differently depending on what skill you pick, even down to a geometry level in places, and includes some super-secret stuff which you probably won't be able to see in a single play-through. Frankly, I consider the map finished and not a work in progress, especially after so much time has passed. There are things I would have done differently today - most notably the deadly coolant which will turn you into a Pompeii husk if you try to swim in it - which isn't a problem in itself as this is clearly conveyed if the player pays attention, but since it may clash with other map's use of lava I should have brought it up in this thread first. With that said, the map is what it is and I'm happy with it unless TOS says otherwise. It is built for use with the last version zdoom (2.8.1), but I tested it with newer versions of gzdoom too. Since Gore Prisons may or may not happen I took the liberty of packaging the map as a standalone release. (For people unaffiliated with the project: You need cc4-tex.wad to run the map.) 40ozGood to see you guys too! I hope you are all well. Maybe I could actually come up with some maps worth playing this time around? I've had a bunch of ideas floating around since 2013 so it might be time to to make something of them. MegaPancakeStrategist Have a demo. Lots of meandering on my part. I say you nail the E1-E2 style pretty well!
