Your DBP48 started as a joke name, but 40oz took your name seriously and now it's an official DBP despite having nothing to do with DBPs; there's no unifying theme to all the maps, in the resource pack none of the textures are blacked out for thematic consistency, the wad is incompatible with external gameplay mods because it in itself is a mod (something 40oz is an advocate for).

It's sad, I've become attached to the series over the 47 DBPs that I've participated at, and it's gone completely off the rails because 40oz doesn't care anymore.

joe-ilya You're not going to be a DBP leader again no matter how badly you think DBP belongs to you.

You're not entitled to be a DBP leader either. Neither is anyone else on this forum. It's not a punishment. It's a reality check.

What is there to explain?

So... Many of the DBP's were lead by other people when 40oz disconected for a while, was a rule (whoever wanted to lead a DBP, could lead it if that someone had a good theme or resources to make it) and now he take the silly decision to change that rule that make this series so special because of the lack of communication and tolerance between all the members of this forum (?
It's a shame been a dick with everybody quiting the freedom to lead a DBP it's a shame...
P.S.: IMO this DBP 48 it's not that bad, just silly, but c'mon we will have a DBP 49 or even a 50th one.

I said nobody is entitled to it. In the past, I've had to fight with people over the idea that the ownership of DBP is this slippery fish that can just be wrestled out of each other's hands.

I designed the DBP so that the people on this forum could do something creative and fun together other than bicker about politics all the time. Since the beginning, my attitude is "heres some resources I made, here's a map I made with them, I'll probably make some more throughout the month and post it when I'm done, and if you wanna make some extra maps to include in it, you can if you want"

Kontra Kommando created this forum in the first place, and I think he's imaginative, and a very capable artist. So I gave him a shot at leading the DBP this month.



This is the kind of attitude I understood from him, and the attitude I think a leader should have. From what I've seen, Kontra Kommando has been very respectful to the people that have submitted maps and pitched ideas. He's created a ton of original art to support the project, and has been very flexible to people who had sensible suggestions.

I really don't enjoy working with people who are incessantly rude, vocalizing their disinterest, and inviting other people and themselves to dogpile and overstep the leader. That shit sucks, man. It tells me a lot about who you are as a person. Where your loyalties really lie. You're not actually interested in making maps for the fun of it. You're undermining people to seek power.

It's so fucking annoying to be the designated fight-breaker-upper, here. It's an enormous amount of work in order to keep this project fun for everyone. I'm not entrusting people like joe-ilya who repeatedly make this position incredibly difficult for me to somehow make the mapping process not miserable for everyone but themselves. I don't care how things were done in the past. This is the way I'm doing it now.

If you wanna do your own project where your model is better. Please please please PLEASE be my guest.

I'm not the only one who dislikes this DBP and criticizes it, can't people dislike things sometimes? Stop being so reactionary.

make youre own project then. How many times do I have to keep telling you? You're a mapper, you have leadership experience, you can make your own content. Just do it.

What else do you have to say? Go ahead. I'm ready for it.
