If you were born with female body parts (boobs and a pussy) would you want to keep them? I think this is a very sneaky way that some advocates of transgenderism use to validate their cause. The problem is that this is not what is happening. The amount of people who are mentally well-adjusted and devoid of psychological and emotional issues but are born with an extra reproductive organ when they don't want them are extremely rare, actually ultra-rare. The people who are calling themselves transgender, in almost every single case, have appropriate body parts to match their chromosomes. These people simply "believe"that they are the opposite gender, and that the gender that they wish to be doesn't match their body. This belief stems from various mental, emotional issues. Despite what the APA and the WHO now claim(even though both used to correctly classify transgenderism as a mental disorder), there aren't a growing number of people in the world(with many conveniently located in entitled, whiny first-world countries) who are trapped in a body of the opposite gender to what their brain supposedly is. Bottom line: If you don't bleed from your vagina once a month and have nasty PMS symptoms, have the ability to be impregnated, carry, and bear children with a womb, uterus, and ovaries, and don't possess XX chromosomes, you will never know what it is to be a woman. You can cosplay all day long, but you haven't truly lived it. |

@vordakk You're missing the point. You don't normally engage with a person (except for your family, etc.) in all of their social roles at once. And in those roles you do engage, a good number of them doesn't need gender bias thrown in. The suffering of transgendered people (and not actually only them) is being seen through a lense of stereotypes in situation they are pretty much invalid or irrelevant. Who cares about what person identifies as if they are able to do their job well and contribute positive things to society? And a person who would fit all stereotypes perfectly within all roles that person undertakes is also rare. Also, women (and men) can be infertile even with proper chromosomes. Or they may not want children because of past traumas. Under spoiler is a rant on how xenophobia is perpetuated and how mental issues of a person are byproduct of social misconduct done by others to said person: I've made long time ago (hard to read) topic on how xenophobia reinforces through interaction with nasty opinionated people who also believe they are representing a whole group of people (strong sense of identity), say, elderly, etc. I will probably have to find it. Just think of old female janitor or low-pay guard who believes they are unjustly ignored by people who pass by and tries to shame anyone gullible (especially young people) who doesn't greet them, thinking they're disrespecting their old age and low status? Do you really feel it is a good thing to be approached by such a person this way, and how do you think it makes people think about being young, about old grumpy people etc.? At least most of us can leave "young age". And some also have enough friends to carry them through those young ages, thus making easy to dismiss such remarks. Except when you don't have friends, grew up being bullied, etc. Then you need psychotherapy, and a lot of money to pay for it.
People also should stop throwing "mental health" as it was somehow degrading a person as being a criminal would. If you treat transgendered people politely, most are able to perform on par, if not better, with cisgender colleagues. Also, a lot of mental health issues comes from being victim of social unjustice and stigma. Most of those illnesses exist because of a lot of assholes in society, who make other people live's a hell. |
