Doom Monster Nicknames

I don't have any honestly, I just use the "official" names from the original Doom manual.

I suppose I learned the game before nicknames were common so that's probably why.

Zombies = (Gun)ers
Imp = Imp
Demon = Demon
Spectre = Spectre
Lost Soul = Soul
Revenant = Rev
Cacodemon = Caco
Pain Elemental = Elemental
Hell Knight = Knight
Baron of Hell = Baron
Arachnotron = Spider
Mancubus = Manc
Arch-vile = Vile
Spider Mastermind = Mastermind
Cyberdemon = Cyber
Our hero = Doomguy/player

I forget who I heard this from first but I like calling archviles flamebois.

Also I call revenants skellies.

Cacodemon = Wacky cacky. I don't know why but it sounds amazing. I loaned it from Dwars.

My second cousin coined that lifeguard -nickname for the revenant because the single rev in MAP30 looked like he was running a swimming school on that platform and since some of the swim teachers were strict asshats at the time, the name applied.

I made up some greek names when playing Doom back in the 90s. That will be fun!

Former Sergeant - Σοτγκανάδες (Shotgunners in greek)
Chaingunner - Τακατάκες (Just the sound of continuous firing greekified
Imp - Ψαρόκολες (The nearby sound they did for some reason sounded to me like that, which in greek is something absurd like "glue made from fish")
Demon - Ροζ Γουρούνια (It means Pink Pigs)
Mancubus - Αμπτιμαχάλιδες (The sound they made sounded to me like some random arabic "Abdi Majal")
Archvile - Ο Θεός - my brother called him "The God" because he could resurrect others
Cacodemon - Τομάτες (tomatos)
Pain Elemental - Μελιτζάνες (eggplant)
Cyberdemon - A friend called it Κυβόργιο for fun, which is a mix of Cyborg and Orgy.

Well "Shotgun Guy" is the official name according to DOOM II end credits.

However, "Heavy Weapon Dude", which is also the official name, is so clumsy, that practically no one seems to use it in casual speech.

As for my own nicknames, I don't think I have them for most of the monsters. I do know that I see Demons as "piggies" because of the sounds they make, and I was very surprised to learn that they were not, as far as I know, supposed to have been pig-based at all.

And in Russian I know many people call the Hell Nobles (Barons, Knights) "Goats" (Козлы), but since I wasn't playing DOOM with a Russian-speaking community, I myself haven't used it much.

Other than that it's just the obvious things: Revenants = skeletons, Lost Souls = skulls. Even the WAD file calls them such (in the sprite names).

yeah, heavy weapon guy is clumsy, but so is the manual's "Former Commando"

Chaingunner rolls of the tongue so nicely all the alternatives are absolute shit. As for shotgunner, yeah that is a sergeant, cause sergeant is even better than shotgunner.

Disagree. I trust men talking about tits more than men talking about dicks, your opinion is therefore not trustworthy. Also, "сержант" (Russian for sergeant) doesn't have those connotations anyway.

P.S. Girls are fucking nice, if you don't talk about female body parts but only talk about your own male body parts, there is no proof that you are straight. Male narcissism is a form of gayness in my book.
