There were some good points that were made in it. I admit, I'm guilty of hyperbole, and joking around. But if people think I'm serious about america "gang-banging the world", than I don't know what to say.
Perhaps hell the entire thing, except for the original post. So there can at least be civil deliberation on it, as it is a world news topic.
I really don't give a shit if people disagree with me, or whatever. But I do think that personal attacks are unacceptable, even in retaliation.

As for the personal attacks, I've dealt with it and will continue to deal with it. Shutting down a thread because it devolved into a shitshow is not censorship, especially when I've (a) left the thread up and (b) told you to start another one if you want. The only thing I'm asking for here is a period of fucking grace so the same shit doesn't just happen again and we end up in a never-ending circle of retardation.

I've put effort and thought into damage control, explained my moderation intent and thinking, and it just gets ignored and you post three times in a row with unaffiliated random thoughts - unanchored to what's been said before - like it's twitter or discord or some shit. Oh, and I get accused of fucking DW tier censorship moderation when in fact I'm doing to complete opposite by not banning everyone's ass because they exhausted my patience. |
