First, long boring demos from me (caniadem is map01 till dead at map03, caniadem2 is a bad almost exit attempt at map04) DemosSecond, slime trail and hom spotted on map01 and map03 respectively: Thoughts write up will come later. Played map01 to map04 so far and its good, although there isnt a map that reach the highs of dbp1 best (map01 here is a blast tho, nice one nnn✓ork !) . Onwards!

In MAP01 the flag midtextures are not the same height on both sides.

I looked at my tuned up map and I'm very happy with how much more grand and smooth you made it, although I feel like you should remove the pointless backpack, all the bullets from the level, half the shells and half the health to make the map more strategic, which was my main focus with the gameplay. Bugs : Bleeding sector, jumping out of boundaries is possible by jumping from the further mountain. This whole iceberg is riddled with tiny bleeding sectors, the popup revenant trap is slightly darker in a jarring way.

Fdas, and no fda for MAP06 because I accidentaly overwrite it with the start of the next map and I didn't want to record a second time. MAP01: Sweet map. MAP02: It's allright. MAP03: You sure love to remake Circle of Death. MAP04: A bit short on ammo in some places otherwise a very good level with a nice adventurous mood. MAP05: Aaaaaaaaahhh what is happening here? Hitscanners, imps, demons and barrels everywhere... I was surprised I was able to complete this. Best map. MAP06: It was pretty good overall. lol penis sector at the start MAP07: Nice caricature of slaughtermaps I liked the exit area, too bad I got stuck in stupid way and died. MAP08: What an mess.

This was a great set with a great theme. Cupcake's MAP05 was best for mine. 40's MAP07 was a fun skillsaw lite-slaughter type map. Joe's MAP08 is broken in a couple of spots. Noisy's MAP01 was great. Valkiri's MAP04 was the usual great standard you'd expect, however something off I can't quite put my finger on in regards to progression. 40's other 3 maps were good in the way his Monuments of Mars maps are, but like them they have that gamey feel. Looking forward to Round 3!

I don't know the name or the origin of the midi, but I'm pretty sure I included it in my map when I sent it in. It's one of the midis included with the wad resource when I got it but I had to rename the DB_XX midi files just so I could hear them.

I've played the whole thing now, as my first part of catching back up with life after hacing been away. I loved the first four maps and then didn't like the last four to remaining degrees. I was surprised to see that MAP06 and MAP07 were by 40oz, as they weren't much like the other stuff I've played by him. MAP07 in particularly was just grindy. MAP05 would've been fine if it wasn't quite so busy. As it was the spacial mess of it all was a bit overwhelming. Valkiriforce's MAP04 felt very classic and 40oz MAP02 and MAP03 also had an oldschool charm, although I think MAP01 may have been my standout for this, as it felt like such a great little package.

Beat this today. It was pretty fun. Pistol started every map on UV with saves. Here's some notes about individual maps: MAP01: Nice opener. A bit more difficult than I expected and sets the tone for the rest of the set perfectly. You can already feel it's not going to be a walk in the park. Didn't like that platforming section with invis powerups though, it was annoying for me MAP02: A death pit? In the starting room? In a DBP?! Wow. Fun map, I liked the combat here. Also it's not very detailed, but the lighting makes it look pretty good MAP03: 4 revs at the exit was a bit dickish. Almost got stuck on geometry and got myself killed. Some pretty devilish traps here, like the red key trap. You can't go back because there's revs and cacos on the upper platform in a cave beside the small walkway, so you have to focus on the arch-vile first and then take out the revs. Fun map MAP04: The first thing I noticed about this map is triple digit monster count so I knew I'm about to get my shit kicked in. This was pretty tricky. After I cleared the red key area I missed the chaingun closet with a rev in it and went straight to the caves. Wasted literally all ammo I had and remembered about that I didn't inspect that part of the map with the rev/CG closet (didn't know there was a closet with a chaingun before) and got killed by a chaingunner -_- Had to reload a save and after making some progression realized there are three more paths to choose from in a cave (well, actually two since two of them lead to the same area). It kind of went downhill from here. I died more times than I would've liked to and there were quite a few instances were I looked at some empty spaces and thought to myself 'it would be really nice to have some health or ammo in here'. This map has a big health and ammo balance problem. Like there is some ammo and health pickups but never enough to fully recover from receiving high damage rolls or to clear a room full of monsters by yourself. I felt like this is the first map in the set that I genuinely think kinda sucks. Really hate this boring ass gameplay where I have to dance around the big groups of monsters praying for infighting so I would have more ammo for the next fight. Fuck this shit and sorry to the mapper who made this for being so blunt, but damn. I did NOT have a good time playing this MAP05: This map was a lot better, still ran out of ammo a few times but it's not even half as bad as in the previous map. I died a lot here too, but it wasn't that big of a deal. Fun map, wish I could access that secret near the exit with a soulsphere and some other goodies in it MAP06: Very straightforward but also enjoyable map. Don't have much else to say. It's simple and fun, just move forward and kill stuff on your way MAP07: This map was ok, I didn't like that there isn't enough rockets to deal with everything in the first combat arena, I also forgot about cells after the blue key barrier and ended up cleaning up remaining hell knights with SSG. This was pretty grindy and a bit boring. I also didn't like that you can't backtrack in this map MAP08: Really liked the final map. It had good health / ammo balance and I liked the small lighting tricks (like that snow mountain and parts of a destroyed brick building casting a shadow) a lot. Progression was fairly obvious, but I spent some extra time after killing everything looking for a way to lower the secret soulsphere in the starting room That's pretty much it. I personally didn't mind too much MAP04, but Valkiriforce's gameplay can be sort of hit and miss - it parades as classic, but tends to be a lot harder and more resource starved than that. Anomaly Report is pretty fucking great tho.

I only played a dozen of them, but wait until you enter the Bog of Big Ol' Billy. It's a neat bog, but you'll still find yourself treading through mud.
