In science, if you have a hypothesis, that hypothesis needs to be tested. Even if it seems pretty probable, you gotta look at all the possible outcomes and figure out how you're going to nullify all the other possibilities. This is how things get admitted into facts.
I appreciate that you guys are trusting my word for this, since that's really all I've got right now. But if you're banned from doomworld like Joe is, you don't really have access to people who would tell you a different side of the story. It probably would have come off nicer if Joe was asking "what if..." or "is it possible that..." but I understand enough of what Joe's saying that he's stating there's still a likelihood that I could simply be frustrated and manipulate the truth for things to work in my favor. We've all seen it happen to plenty of people in events of community drama. I actually enjoy the fact that I'm being tested. I've been accused of spreading false rumors before when my messages were interpreted differently than what was intended so it feels kind of nice to have it made known what is left unclear.

Eh, it seems like I am the only person that has this issue and is vocal about it. Every time I see a potential thread devolve into a shitshow I get sad and angry. Especially when people keep contributing to the shitshow and are just in "for the drama" or whatever it is that isn't related to the thread in the first place. I get unrighteously mad at that point. Like, why, for fucks sake, why? Why the fuck did you ruin a perfectly discussable topic with some stupid angsty 20-year old shit? Why the fuck is that considered a valid move in the community? Why does everyone suck veterans' dicks by just hopping onto the bandwagon and ruining threads? Worse part is, I keep looking back into the potential thread in hopes of seeing a original comment: Even if the comment had a opinion that I didn't agree with, I liked the comment just because the poster cared a bit and wanted to talk. But instead we have you fucking cocks (not all of you, and heck not all of you here, but if you thought I was talking about you, then are you?) nitpicking everything and pulling straws out of strawmen and whatever the fuck is considered a "debate" and then we have Leengekwa locking the thread and shit like that and that fucking drama sucks dongs. I KNOW I KNOW, I am merely a noobface, my opinion doesn't matter since I haven't posted a map or participated in a community project or won multiplayer tournaments, why does anyone give a fuck about me? Why should I care in the first place? This ... "thing" of mine is so irrational in its roots... I like the exercise of forum battles, I just hate when its one-sided. When someone is only speaking in their own defense and they're fighting against a hundred others, it's a lot less fun for the one who's getting alienated than the rest who are cooperating as a team, finishing each other's sentences and stacking more posts on their opinion, and laughing with each other as they stomp out all the minority opinions. I'd take a massive rage-filled shit-flinging dumpster fire of a flame war any day, but only when it's divided right down the middle.

For what it's worth; I didn't enjoy writing the last post, my brain legitimately is hurting after it.
Well there's playing the devil's advocate and cross examining someone in the pursuit of the truth because sometimes it's a way to get someone to depart with more info... and then there's Joe lobbying his latest hypothetical accusation where maybe you have "PTSD" because maybe you were too emotional, then in his next hypothetical you get promoted from not seeing things straight cuz "too emotional" to you just being a weak person with no spine that edits posts post debate to make yourself look better so obviously your next step is to be a lying scumbag who deliberately paraphrases off to make himself look better, (where he thinks so little of you that he assumed you actually wrote something so mean spirited but edited it because you're also a bitch when you didn't even edit your post).. this whole time he was talking about a third person who had yet to respond to his last 2 hypotheticals, while using terms like "obviously" so there really isn't any room for doubt and comes off as an accusation aimed at undermining someone's character..

This is how I see whenever someone ahem ahem *drops a random name from DW* ahem ahem decides to quote someone and just say anything that isn't: "I agree, and this is why..." or "I disagree, and this is why...", but "So you wanna say...?" and variations thereof. Suddenly the thread in my head isn't portrayed as a room filled with chairs and coffee cups but as a game of backstabbing and "lowkey insults" which are basically, when taking off the "suppressor", just a average verbal barfight. I guess I wouldn't find it as nauseating if they didn't try and disguise it and decorate it with fancy words and whatever all the time. I know mods and admins are watching, but it just looks like an stupid showoff instead of a actual argumentation. Add extra points if the whole thing looks like a 1v1 but has to be public and has to lock down a good thread for a stupid reason. EDIT: Bc I sux at English. |

Also, stop complaining about bias and "spinning narratives" while reaching so far with your own bias that you have to rely on one the most ridiculously bad faith hypothetical situations I've ever read in my life (which relied on armchair psychology based off a lie in order to make sense) to spin your OWN narrative.. you can't have it both ways.. you aren't the voice of objectivity you think you are. We get that you have your friends on Discord (now) but what does that prove or disprove? It doesn't take away from the amount of shit 40oz got from users from Doomworld saying they nearly flagged his video because you said "(content removed)" on his radio and how he got piled on because he actually tried to defend your language. All these complaints I've made about bias and 40oz being mean, were said before I realized about the keyboard mash not being an initially mean spirited post, now that 40oz cleared that up I don't have those complaints anymore, I now trust 40oz more than ever as a lesson. The fact that I have some of my Doomworld ex-antagonists as a part of a fun social group on Discord proves that 40oz isn't my complete advocate as DN claims he is and that I'm not a shitty person who would hold a grudge against anyone who feels remorse later on, what does that have to do with people being offended at the N-word? I honestly didn't know what had happened at that time what you were banned for, so I was a little shocked, but Ive listened to that episode again and again and I still dont believe anyone was truly was offended by what was said on that episode. I think they were just looking for reasons to get angry with me and make a scene for the attention. Its that kind of stuff that makes me happy to be gone.

You misinterpreted what I was saying here, but anyway, I'm happy to build a bridge and let all this all be water underneath it. I'm really happy you admitted some of your mistakes btw and it's awesome that you apologized to 40, and for what it's worth I'm only harder on you than I'd be on someone like Sarais because unlike him you do actually have a human conscience, critical thinking skills and you actually have some well thought posts and you have been evolving since you first joined Doomworld. I've also been in a situation where my main piece of evidence turned out to be disinfo someone else posted on Twitter and after it got proved wrong I stayed in the thread longer than I should have and tried to bounce back to save my pride and also started reaching for hypotheticals and I made an ass of myself, luckily it was a Youtube thread, haha.. anyway my point is sometimes it's better to wait a little while for more evidence to be presented before making up your mind. Every single one of us in this thread has been wrong at least a few times and that's ok because it's part of a learning process. I don't mind dropping it. |
