What makes you, you?

Who's ready for another typical "TraceOfSpades loves talking about himself" post?
I sure am!
We are a small group of people made up of many different types of individuals. Whether you're an eccentric like me, a great storyteller like BattleKorbi , a fun guy like @vikkazda , or maybe an all around goodfellow like Doomkid ...what makes you, you? I made this thread due to a desire to share a bit of myself with you and a desire to learn more about you guys. So let's have some fun with it! What are some things about you that maybe we don't know yet?
So let's get started!
I am an animal lover. I feed the squirrels in my backyard every morning with a few handfuls of in-shell peanuts. Consequently, I am greeted each day by a group of fat, red squirrels who aren't afraid to come take the peanuts right out of my hands. Sometimes they'll even venture inside if they get impatient. Animals, to me, are the only truly innocent beings (outside of infants). They don't do things they do out of malice. There is no evil. Certainly, there are mean animals. But these animals either have something wrong in their heads or have had traumatic events happen to them in the past that force them to constantly be on the defensive. They are incapable of rationalizing new situations like meeting new people who don't want to hurt them. For example, all a previously abused fight dog knows is, "Last time I saw a human, it threw salt in my eyes and forced me to fight another dog."
I tend to be a very superficially contradictory person. Many of my interests seem to go against the grain of people who share said interests. For example, I am a christian by faith...but it is hard to find other christians who enjoy the same kind of music or movies I do. I think that if I ever showed most christians I encounter bands like Acid Bath or Coffinworm, they wouldn't even want to be around me anymore...or if my pastor ever asked me what my favorite movie was and I responded with "Texas Chainsaw Massacre"...there would probably be some weird looks. On the flipside, it is hard for me to find avid horror movie or metal fans that feel comfortable being around someone who is christian. I have managed to attain a handful of very close friends who share my interests and don't care about my faith...but even so, there are times where they will go to say something, stop, and then feel the need to reiterate to me that, "Well...aside from you...christian are-" and then they continue with their rant. It doesn't bother me, it's just a thing that I observe that I find kind of amusing. Outside of the aforementioned "contradictory interests", it's also hard for me to align myself politically with most people. I think the war on drugs should end, I think weed should be legal (even though I hate being around stoners [not to be confused with productive, recreational pot smokers]), I support the private ownership and sale of firearms, I support gay marriage, I think that the "gender identity" crisis is being handled all wrong because I think that gender dysphoria is a serious mental issue that should be addressed in ways other than coddling the delusion, I am neither 100% for or 100% against welfare (I feel that each case deserves special attention as each case will have different circumstances), I am neither 100% for or 100% against abortion (for the same reason), I think racism is one of the most easily observable signs of stupidity but I also don't see a problem with acknowledging physically observable differences between various races of people (in fact, I think that ignoring what makes us different instead of embracing said differences is actually worse), I think men and women should be treated with equal consideration but also acknowledge that women are better naturally suited for certain tasks (like nurturing children) and men are better naturally suited for other tasks (most physically demanding tasks), that is not to say that a man cannot be a good nurturer and a woman can't be an effective construction worker...that is just saying that if nature took it's course without men or women actively trying to stray away from them, gender roles would be naturally occurring...as you can see, I am all over the place.
I can be a very romantic person when I am in relationships. I will hold hands, open doors, pull out chairs, cook meals, write songs, write letters...all sorts of gushy shit that I think a lot of people take for granted, and even more people are afraid to do for their loved ones out of fear of appearing "soft" to the people around them.
I love scented candles. I almost always have one burning in my room. My favorite scents are cinnamon and vanilla. The lighting makes it easy to sleep, and the smell is nice to walk in to.
