If you're anything like me, you just love games whose writers intentionally break the 4th wall in order to shove their political views in your face. Especially when those views are utterly anachronistic and have absolutely zero place in the universe that said games take place in. Well today is your lucky fuckin' day! Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear does all that and so much more!

Wow...hoo boy. I guess I should have known this was coming, but still. In Baldur's Gate? One of my all-time favorite games? Come on. Beamdog writer/activist Amber Scott is to blame for a great deal of this horseshit. Apparently this crazy cunt decided to save the world, on video game at a time, so she's begun her crusade by making a BG expansion that glorifies transgenderism and jokes about Gamergate, while cautiously avoiding sexism because, you know, sexism definitely did not exist in imaginary dungeons and dragons universes or anything. To quote Ms. Scott...
"I consciously add as much diversity as I can to my writing and I don’t care if people think that’s “forced” or fake. I find choosing to write from a straight default just as artificial. I’m happy to be an SJW and I hope to write many Social Justice Games in the future”
Good luck selling games, honey. The backlash on the internet has been substantial, and rightfully so. This is completely against the entire spirit of video games in my opinion. Gamers play video games to escape reality and politics, not to have these things forcibly imposed upon them via ham-fisted story and dialogue writing. The original Baldur's Gate wasn't trying to influence men to be chauvinists or encourage bros to go out and gay bash, it was merely presenting a fantasy world full of people of varying types. And the fact that Beamdog's attempt at damage control is to lock threads and silence any free speech which is in opposition to their agenda is very telling. They are taking a page right out of the modern intolerant liberal leftist playbook.
