Apparently the money wasn't for Kate's family, but so that Jimmy could commandeer Kate Fox's Discord. Asking for money immediately after somebody's death? That seems extremely goddamn suspicious to me. So while I may be wrong about him, he hasn't given me any reason to think otherwise, especially with his grudge ("we will never forgive you!!!!") against me. The only thing I could find is in the ZDoom forums thread, which contradicts what you are saying here. Unless I'm missing something else that has happened elsewhere... And I would normally ask you to provide proofs of what you are saying, but in your case (given your past behaviour) I really suggest you to just cut if off and stay away from the internet from some time. |

I really think youre letting your experience with Jimmy color your judgment. Its not unusual to collect money to assist a family after they experienced a tragedy. I'm not really clear on what your experience is with Jimmy, or the context of that quote, but I do know Jimmy and Kate were pretty close for many years. If you really believe this is true I think you'd be able to do a better job clueing us in on why you think this. I've heard better arguments for flat earth. I had no qualms with jimmy prior to his behavior in JOM4. After which, though? His behavior then and since has made me lose all respect for him. I respect his work, however, but not the douche-bag behind it who claims to be "friendly" then shits on anybody who views things from an alternative perspective. What perspective? |

From what I can gather Jimmy said something in his Joy of Mapping Discord chat that sarais has taken too far. Sarais has since compared Kate dying as karma for Jimmy not being more supportive to sarais when sarais mentioned that somebody he knew died too. Sarais has since gone on to declare that real hell is actually Doom hell and it is textured nicely. And then sarais has the idea of Jimmy taking money to take over Kate’s discord server (does such a thing require payment?) from the donations being taken by Wartorn and Xaser on behalf of Bouncy and family although this part I’m a little unclear on. And I almost forgot about sarais’ claim that Jimmy, a dude I’ve posted a mail package to in Perth, Australia, murdered his dear friend in the American Midwest. I have to hand it to your imagination sarais, you are a clearly a special thinker and a special person.

There’s a huge post that originally was posted by sarais that he changed within half an hour to a single regretful sentence, but which he later expounded on in at least three different Discord servers. Jimmy, if you're reading this, much love bro. We all know you're a good guy. There's nothing for you to worry about here. Me expressing any sort of compassion to sarais' position isn't meant in any way to be a detriment to you or anything you do.
Sarais, I empathize with you because I really truly do understand that you believe that Jimmy has wronged you. From what I can understand, it seems like a misunderstanding or miscommunication from both parties. But no matter what it was, (even if you were OMG RAPED IN HIS BASEMENT EVERYONE IS GAY I CURSE YOU GOATSE GOATSE GOATSE POOPY BALLS) I really don't think you've fully wrapped your head around the idea that this event was very real and the emotional connection that was exchanged with this person was also very real. You can express your distrust with people on this forum if you want, and that's fine. We do that a lot here, anyway. Sometimes our spats get pretty ridiculous but it's safe within the confines of us all agreeing that we don't have a lot of emotional investment in the avatars we use to represent ourselves with on the internet. It's a game, really. And that's fine. But when real people start actually dying, we have to draw the line there, for sure. We're not playing that game here. If you're going to cling to the fantasy that Jimmy is really an evil villain who's using people's mourning for his own personal gain, there's going to be some friction here. There's a balance between the exchange of real feelings and hyperbole that we expect all humans to be able to transition in and out of. Right now we're reporting a real obituary that effects all of us on a very personal level.
We make mistakes sometimes. We all do. And we can forgive you for it if you're willing to own up to it. But you gotta dial it back and save it for a more appropriate setting.
