I made time to play this yesterday but my computer was updating basically all night and I didn't have time. I really like all the mappers involved so I'm looking forward to having a good time. I'll be playing it tonight. FDA demos and reviews to come!

Hmm, I like joe-ilya but I think his map is not up to standard. It seems rushed, with similar texture combinations used all over the place, and not really TNT in style. Too many monsters too.

FDAs 01-05 recorded in prboom-plus cl4 /w -iwad TNT.WAD MAP01: Perfect! I loved everything about this map. It's short, action packed, not too hard, feels like TNT. I was in love when I saw the berserk pack secret with the scrolling zimmer textures. I wouldn't change a thing. I was hooked immediately. MAP02: This map is very good in the sense that AD_79 and Alfonzo both make very good maps. But I don't have much more to say than that. If MAP01 is anything to go by, I don't feel like this map fits very well with the scope of the project. The gameplay, level design, texturing, music, and everything about it is very good. Seriously, there's no boxes unchecked, here. It's the illusion of playing more TNT that was completely sniped away from me. Within the first few seconds of seeing those Hell Barons at the very start, the map just felt very newschool. The music doesn't remind me of anything TeamTNT would have made. It just didn't sit well with me in the same way that MAP01 did. On all accounts this map was very good and I enjoyed playing it a lot, but it more or less feels like any good community project map that just happens to be using TNT textures. MAP03: Very good! It has the size and dimensions of a TNT Evilution level. Something about TNT Evilution tells me they're a major distribution company, so the massive stacks of crates really speak to me. The outdoor courtyard also reminds me of the massive vistas and huge tall structures you often see in TNT. I didnt read the text file before playing this, and I was excited to see who else knows TNT exactly how it oughta be, but as soon as I hit that exit switch.... valkiriforce scores 2 for 2!! MAP04: This has some parts that smell a lot like TNT to me, but other go a little off the rails. Has some pretty great TNT like parts but it also goes in a mode that reminds me of the cool parts of Reverie too. I had a lot of fun with it but it doesn't hit the same TNT sweet spot that 01 and 03 do. MAP05: Based on memfis' post my expectations were kinda low, but I actually liked this map a lot. The first trap killed me several times in a row which kinda frustrated me, but the use of tekgren and browngrn actually reminded of TNT in some ways. I've played enough of joe's maps to be able to pick a joe ilya map out of a police line up with perfect accuracy, but I had some good fun with this one and I think it fits in the project pretty well. MAP06: I had to take a break for the night, I only played a little bit of it but my initial thoughts so far is that it's a little stingy on ammo. I'll have to play through the whole thing another time so I can give it a fair review.

Hm, I was too harsh about Map05 maybe. I enjoyed it in multiplayer at least. It's actually kinda cool how everything unfolds in the level as you go.
