So, me and my parents don't have any family in the US. So my parents decided to go to a random spot in the US, and they chose......
El Paso, Texas
bzzrak, try not to shit your pants...
So as of right now, we are still here. We leave the day after next.
El Paso, is beautiful. The entire city as almost completely surrounded by mountains (some of which are in Mexico). And is very hilly and clean. The city has beautiful neighborhoods and park areas. From the deck of the house we rented, you can see the Mountains and some of Juárez (the city right against El Paso in Mexico). For being a rather large city, its very quiet and not anywhere near as much traffic as expected.
So far, we've explored some neighborhoods and some random streets. We went down the "Border Highway", which is a highway that one side is the US, and the other is Mexico. There's actually some places where there is absolutely no fence on the border, so you can just walk across and back. From what I've heard, there was originally a river there that dried up a few years ago. Which kept (some) people inside the dotted lines haha. We also went to the "scenic route" which is a road that goes up the top of one of the mountains. From there you have an amazing view over El Paso and Juárez. We looked through some of those binoculars they had there. Juárez has this ridiculously huge red X just standing in the middle of the city. I have no idea why. And no one I talked to knows why either lol. I wanted to go into Mexico, but my parents keep saying that Mexico is unsafe or whatever. I don't really believe it unless i see it.
One thing that was weird was this like fucking huge maze of bridges that go every which way on all these different motorways and roads and shit. It's a huge pain in the ass too. But I've never seen anything like this before. It's amazing.
So in short, El Paso is like a smaller, calmer, and less flashy Las Vegas. I love it
I wanna hear about you guys vacations, tell me about them!!
