Can’t say the whiskey is correct for me, when I’m drinking scotch I love everyone especially myself. Tequila goes down so smooth that by the time my brain catches up to the drink, it puts me lying face down on the floor for safekeeping, vodka too. The only kind of alcohol to fuck with my normally good tempered mood is cachaça, which is a sugar cane based spirit from Brazil. There they have a million different brands and everyone and their uncle’s dog seems to make it. You can go to the supermarket and buy all kinds of the shit, ranging from upmarket classily branded stuff down to 1 buck homemade stuff that comes in a plastic bottle with no label. Great for cleaning that shit is.

Gin takes my soul to different plains, I swear there are hallucinogens in that crap. No other alcohol gets me that wasted.

I never understood the "(insert alcohol type here) makes me angry, but (this alcohol type) makes me sad."
Has anyone ever heard any sound evidence to back up these claims?

Evidence is going to be hard to pull. I believe everyone has an individual way of reacting to certain types of alcohol. My personal experience is a lot like yours -- alcohol is alcohol. I get pretty much the same type of buzz with everything I've ever had. I think if you are someone who is a food critic, you'll need a lot of experience trying different dishes and really sensitive taste buds to articulate with any accuracy what ingredients are in it and how those flavors combine for a good or bad tasting experience.
I think it's kind of the same thing with alcohol, if you're a regular drinker and have had many different types of drinks often enough, you can pick up on the subtle differences that make each kind unique. But it's also true that you may have a different kind of brain chemistry that makes your head respond differently to alcohol than others. I have a brother who had to battle alcoholism in his teenage years, but I personally have never felt the addictive pull of alcohol. I can always decide with completely unbiased judgment whether drinking at this time is going to be a good or bad idea. It's not as easy for him.
So yeah, if I'm being honest, I can't understand this chart. But I'm sure there are people who have a more intimate relationship with drinking than I do who can make better sense out of it.

It's not about how alcohol affects your feelings, it's about how feelings affect your type of alcohol consumption.
