dunno if the slippery slope fallacy will happen It's not a fallacy anymore, if it ever was... I know, I still like like using that word; we're living in the world that people were calling a fallacy just not too long ago.. we're living in a slippery slope fantasy, anyway, enough melodramatic posting from my end..

I'm sincerely trying to hear you out here but I'm having trouble following what you're saying. It sounds like you have some criticisms but they are kinda indirect and suspicion-laden. I'd be happy to clear things up if you have questions. Bleh, you can just see it as a rant, or someone yelling rhetorical questions at the clouds, I don't mind.. really; I initially commented to say it's a matter of perspective on whether "reforming" DBs was good or not depending on when you joined, from my perspective it just makes me trust everyone a lot less. I can only speak on an abstract level because I still don't know the motivations or if there were ulterior motives like thinking the change is going to affect DBPs being recognized by DW cacoward writers for example.. Then again; what first seemed like infighting now looks like everyone just hated eachother from the start? This is what's got me more confused than anything.. it'd mean that I've been looking at this place with rose tinted goggles this entire time.. alright. ill explain my motivations once more. Apologies in advance if the following looks familiar, but this is as transparent about my intentions as it gets. I am just one person, and I cant keep my eyes on this forum 24/7. It would be cool if I could, but I can not. My moderating style is very hands-off. I practice pretty extreme caution when utilizing any kind of moderator action, and I do my best to talk issues out with the members here the best I can. This was easier when this forum had only 50 accounts or so eight years ago. Now it has almost a thousand. I havent been doing anything to promote this place all year so I dont know who most of these new people are or how theyre finding this place. While most people seem to appreciate that I am slow on the trigger for banning and locking threads, unfortunately there have been times where a new person shows up here to rapidly post uninteresting or crass content on the forum, and being able to arbitrarily stop this person would have been desired. Additionally, if the content violates proboards terms of service, it poses a significant risk to the website. With this in mind, and people treading closer and closer to this risk, I have to have moderators that can stop this when it's happening. By now, I hope that it is understood that I am pretty lenient about what is allowed on this forum, even when for content i find morally reprehensible. I'll debate it on the forum, but i wont ban people I disagree with. The moderators can mute people they think are disturbing the atmosphere of the forum, and then I'll review these decisions, perhaps to talk to the person, and then eventually set them free again. When I leave this forum to its own devices, many members here will opt to troll or harass someone they feel is not fit for the doom community in order to edge them out themselves, even when they are legitimate doom fans. I find this really disappointing and not in the spirit of how I prefer to resolve conflicts on the forum. It makes me feel like a troll myself when i find people who might be interested in Doom and I tell them about this place and they observe this happening. People I know in real life who dont give a shit about politics will see uncontested xenophobia here, and it raises questions like “what the fuck does this have to do with Doom?” I dont like to see people on this forum being mean to each other and hurting each other's feelings, including people that arent here to speak for themselves. I want people to like this place. When they come here, they should not expect to get bullied just for talking. I'd like to see people using the rest of the forum freely to talk with each other, not just doomer boards project mappers on one side of the forum and the rest of the people on the other. The people who dont want to get roped up in an argument end up not using the forum at all, and then people who are looking for a fight tend to run the place. I'd like to get a lot of different perspectives about this, so I have many different moderators that I've invited to wield this ability to mute people when they think they are damaging the forum in some way. Ive intentionally chosen a bunch of different people who I think have differing opinions about what Doomer Boards forum should be. This includes people who believe that this power really shouldnt be used even in circumstances that others would find extreme. Mutes are meant to be small temporary penalties in situations where I'm not available to do anything about it. The moderators dont do by my bidding. I purposefully picked people of different opinions about this, told them I'm not going to tell them how to do the job, and made them anonymous for the purpose of prevent any kind of agenda evolving from this. I'm not using them as tickets to eventually ban people, and I have no motivations other than to have a forum that is at service to all fans in the doom community. As one person, I can only do so much to promote a friendly atmosphere. I often try to create topics that encourage friendly discussion. I created the doomer boards project in the first place so that we could do something fun and doom-related together, find commonalities in the his interest, and bring something useful to the doom community that brought us all together in the first place. I'd like to see other people doing the same, but I dont think I can get there if the well-intentioned doom fans are being driven out by people who dont really care who they are offending.

I wonder if dbmod13 registered as a shitpost or not. Also, it (or any other @dbmod##'s) might not even be people in the first place. They could actually be spooky ghosts all along! It is Halloween season, afterall. I think I figured the mystery out.

well-intentioned doom fans are being driven out by people who dont really care who they are offending I honestly do give you credit for at least allowing people who aren't extreme leftwingers to even exist here. Usually leftists in even smallish positions of power like internet mods revel gleefully in how no speech other than there own is allowed. It's a neat trick, devise an ideology where articulating disagreement to it is illegal/hate, therefor impossible. Align it with state and corporate power and unironically position themselves as the marginalized. It's fascinating. Again, you don't seem to be like this (at least not fully) so I respect that. And I don't know the full history but I think the dude could have been treated with a bit more respect. A public apology for being muted, recognition that it was wrong and the mod who did it reprimanded, even if that part is done in private. Just extend the olive branch, ignore Grima Wormtongue, make peace and get back to what you say it's all about. People who like Doom having fun.

It's possible tbh.
I took the most gigantic shit in a public toilet yesterday. First I went to a shopping center but none of the doors in the toilets had working locks (it was the same six months ago). Then I went to the nearby faculty of philology - none of those had paper, and the plastic parts of the toilet bowl for sitting were missing too. Finally I found a public toilet. It didn't have a lock either and I had to ask the gypsy janitor for some paper. But I was past the point where I could be picky, so I took what I had. The paper was barely enough, I had to wipe with half a square at a time. There were also several phone numbers of people offering sexual services written on the walls. One of them had a clumsy handwriting very similar to a friend of mine so I'm considering calling for the giggles (the number was not his).
But anyway, the point of this whole story is this: the shit expanded my asshole so much I could probably take a 10 inch (content removed) right now.
