Which are they? Are there some I am missing? Unfortunately these become a meme and now every knows DOOM can run on THIS and they make videos or referencing the fact to make clout.
The worst offender, one I didn't know but someone else told me it's misleading, is "Doom can run on a Pregnancy Test". That's the most popular meme out there and it might fire my ackchyually genes whenever I hear it mentioned (like it did with the guy who told me how he disliked this became a meme like it's actual information). The fact with this one was that the author never run Doom on the actually hardware and LCD of the pregnancy test. He hooked up some raspberry pi or something to it, and even the original screen was replaced, so it's like the plastic shell. It would be the equivalent of running Doom on my phone and stuffing it inside a potato and be like "Look I ran Doom in a Potato".
The other one was that viral thing of Doom running on bacteria. But from what I understand, they can give as an input a frame of any image and slowly make the bacteria move and short of produce the image. So, it's not really the entire Doom code base running on bacteria, like we figured out how to simulate a computer out of living matter or something. I don't think we are there yet.
Of course all headlines and meme spreaders will mention for clout that "Did you know that Doom ran on a freakin Pregnancy Test?" and now this will stay.
Are there other misleading Doom Can RUN?

I don't really know a lot about the intricacies of 'technically' getting Doom to run on unusual hardware, but as you described, running doom on a phone or raspberry pi, and then finding a way to transfer the display to some other object's LCD screen seems to be the most common offender.
"Pics or it didn't happen" doesn't really apply anymore. I tend to not trust any "no context" photo of Doom running on things. I need a detailed report of how it's done.
