I paid back my student loans in-full shortly after college. If they proposed a bill that paid me back in-full, I'd support that. Why not if they are forgiving active loans?

Then they can offset the cost of supporting colleges and universities, if they eliminated public brick and mortar to shift completely online, utilizing the most cost effective and advanced learning software and hardware.
I'd reinvest public funds to revitalize libraries, and public spaces for students that need a place for study. Then at least the general public could also benefit.

I don't think they should completely get rid of brick and mortar, I think private universities should be allowed to exist.

to be fair, they *did* sell a defective product to people with not enough smarts to know better.
Like... if some fucking scammer phoned your dementia-riddled granny and sold her a £20'000 hamster degreaser, then yeah, you'd be entitled to a refund. I'd be having similar feelings if a university sold my mentally-defective offspring a degree in sapphic cooking studies.

Though yeah, it's different in every country, and it's probably worse than average in my third world shithole so I may be exaggerating. |
