Didn't like some newer Tristania so much but World of Glass and Beyond The Veil albums are great.
Eluveitie's Slania album is great. I don't like Helvetios or some newer stuff though.

Not quite folk or symphonic but operatic gothic is close enough for me. Got a bunch of tracks of Metatron album probably over 15 years ago, and got the actual CD on its way to me. Just got their new Moloch album. New album is great, but the older album the tracks seem to stand out more different from each other.

I got a couple good Korpiklaani CD's. This song isn't on them though.
About Darkwell on my previous post, I really don't recommend their newer Moloch album. It's almost like the soul has been sucked out of them. Their older albums are so much better and higher effort.

Check out these guys, super underrated. The whole album slaps, give it a listen when you have the time. It's great for mapping sessions too.

Good stuff: Falkenbach and Evil Seeds. Have some Falkenbach.
A friend gave this CD some years ago:

I have an unpopular opinion - The first Symphony X album is also their best album. It's very overlooked because the singer is not Russell Allen. The vocals are recorded by some unknown guy, Rod Tyler, who does a decent job, but doesn't quite have the range and power of Allen, and i can see why some fans, who have discovered the band with their later works, are disappointed with the first album. I myself didn't give it a chance for years, but i finally did a few months ago, and damn... these are some of the most beautiful melodies written by Michael Romeo. I've noticed a lot of familiar compositions from their later albums, the music is so good, Romeo has been recycling parts from this album in Damnation Game, all the way up to The Odyssey.
