There's tons of threads/debates out there about which source ports people use to play Doom but what source ports do you use for other old games? Here are some I use/have used.
Duke Nukem 3D: Rednukem - Vanilla behavior for everything it supports. EDuke32 for everything else.
Blood: NBlood - Switched to it once there was a way to play blood outside of BuildGDX or DOSBox and have been using it since.
Shadow Warrior: VoidSW - Only one I know of so not a very hard choice.
Quake: ironwail - Second most used source port on my PC behind DSDA-Doom. Great performance and features but can have issues with stuff tested in older ports like Quakespasm-Spiked. I also keep Mark_V handy for the rarely needed Nehara support.
Quake 2: Yamagi - Doesn't have support for the remaster content yet but it's being worked on.
Doom 3: dhewm3 - Supports the original game and the BFG Edition content has been ported to it so it can be played in a "vanilla" way.
Doom 64: Doom64EX-Plus - Better performance than Doom64EX or the Beth port for me.
Diablo/Hellfire: devilutionX - More of a back port since it uses reverse engineered code (I guess NBlood would fall under that as well). Great features and easily the best way to play this old game.

None. Doom being the sole exception.
NBlood is pretty gross tho. As its the case when it comes to playin' any build engine game outside DOS. Such an offense is quite severe in my books. To the point of no appeal - just an one-way ticket into a camp design'd especially for rascals such as you to concentrate, reeducate and rid yourself of such blunders for good or be expell'd via flue.
I hold no strong opinions on the remainin' sausage pots. Thus, you get nuttin. You lose. Gud. Day. Sire.

Rise of the Triad has a few source ports but they're all shit. The game itself is also shit. Don't play it
I don't use ports for games like Quake where the original game still works on modern Windows.

When it comes to Quake I would have a hard time going back to lower resolutions, a framerate that's not well over 1000 and the lack of mods.

Quake: Quakespasm Spiked- it does things well on my end. I'd say that a close second would be likely either VKQuake, or Qrack. Duke Nukem 3D:Eduke32, followed by BuildGDX, then Xduke (RIP) Quake 2:Yamagi all the way, despite it not harboring support for the remaster content Quake 3 Arena:Quake3e, followed by ioQuake3 Redneck Rampage:Rednukem, and also BuildGDX Shadow Warrior: VoidSW for sure. Blood:NotBlood. I'm hoping to get this sometime soon. For 2nd place I have BuildGDX. Powerslave: BuildGDX Doom 3:Dhewm3, followed boy DoomBFA. Star Wars-Dark forces and Outlaws: The Force Engine. Quake 4's and Prey 2006's PC versions deserve a sourceport that boot up and do what they are supposed to do. What's going on!? Shame that Xash3D is still the only working Goldsrc sourceport. Those can over in Xinjiang Province in Mainland China for Uighurs and some other "undesirables", like many of the Hong Kong protesters. They can also be found in areas throughout the ""DPRK"", plus some in Cuba as well as those found just as secretive locations in Vietnam.
Nblood, I don't see the problem honestly, though I'd really rather use BloodGDX (which I already have) and NotBlood (To be obtained), instead. >RRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE concentrate and think like me, StodgyAyatollah, off to the Gulag camp for you!! WOW...

I use EDuke32 for DN3D, and DHEWM3 for DOOM 3.

Chocolate Duke3D is the only other one I played with recently. There's a bug on L4 where the crane doesn't activate, so have to jump across from another ledge (the one with the trapped girl). Otherwise I got to the end of the shareware episode without any problems. But the final boss battle is too hard for me, because I can't circle strafe with keyboard. With the DOS game I could manage ok playing with just the keyboard.
