www.gog.com/en/game/dredge_digital_deluxe_editionI always thought a fishing game with sea monsters and other interesting things would be cool. I always wondered why play boring simulations of the real thing when you can just do the real thing. If you're playing a video game, go nuts with cool fictional and legendary stuff. I had some fun fishing up sea serpents, krakens, and treasure in Ultima Online at least. Well this new game looks ideal and I'll probably get it soon. It's on sale until February 6th.

So this game is freaking good so far. Only ESG influence I've noticed was in the shipwright and builder being nonattractive women.

Yeah everyone is rather realistically grizzled, except fortunately haven't come across any bearded women. Now to pull up some other abyssal horrors, or hadal horrors if I can find them.

How's the gameplay? I'm assuming it's pretty slow paced since it is a fishing game. I Like the concept but curious if their's enough going on with it to keep me engaged. The store page makes it look like you just end up putzing around in a boat to do some rng fishing.

It's a lot more interesting than that. There's a considerable amount of sea monsters stalking you. It's currently on sale. www.gog.com/en/game/dredge_digital_deluxe_editionI went ahead and bought the digital deluxe and then the additional Pale Reach DLC and I find it worth it. At minimal I recommend the standard game plus the Pale Reach.

Got both endings and 100% achievements (including those in the Pale Reach DLC). Great freaky fishing game. Got it on DRM-free GOG but looking at Steam screenshots and some stuff, there's a couple wild encounters I didn't see myself. There's an Iron Rig DLC in the works coming out this year. It was actually planned last year before the Pale Reach, but they didn't see it being ready before the year's end so they came up with the Pale Reach in time which is good and earie in its own right. Only other game I ever got was 100% achievements on was Bloodstained: Ritual of Night, four years ago. But now with its expanded updates more were added so I only have 79% now, though I still have the all achievements achievement. It just gained more modes and stuff yesterday, although Switch players have to wait some more days yet. One more expansion is planned for that game and another similar game is announced to come after. I was one away from 100% in Doom 64 on Bethesda.net, but then it got migrated to Steam and my achievements weren't carried over with it. I'm two away from 100% in MK11 but I have no plans on pursuing them. I saw in this video by Cyael, there's fishing in Stellar Blade. Looks like Sony censored the game post-release for the time being though. Epic sea shanty song intro! Here's some I added my contribution to.
Here's one that's just really freaking good: I actually have the album CD that song's on plus the previous CD I bought directly from the band seeing them in person at least twice many years ago. It's annoying most bands just have their stuff available online and no physical CD's these days. Both is best. Have the new school and old school buying your stuff more then. I'd pay $10 for the plainest CDR if it's from the band directly

I once had a boatload of fine lasses in a dinghi. Alas we were mere pounds away from sinking. Over the sides I asked them to put their bountiful mammaries. As those who wish to stay afloat should abide. It sure struck my fancy as the measure abruptly increased our buoyancy.

Dave the Diver just got FREE Dredge DLC added and already had FREE Godzilla DLC. That game is only on steam and not on gog, but it's on sale for the weekend so I just grabbed it and played it a few hours. I like the majority of the game. You usually get to dive twice per an in-game day. The having to run a sushi bar at night isn't really my thing but it's not too much of a problem. Love the whole diving part of the game. You catch most fish by Mortal Kombat Scorpion-like harpooning that you can aim at limited angles. Jelly fish are best dealt with whatever melee weapon you have, except the toy hammer is too weak, and you get to shoot sharks with guns, preferably the tribarrel (EDIT) sniper rifle . I have to get to some point where a chicken farm is enabled to encounter the Dredge stuff, or the traveling merchant should appear on a foggy night whenever that's going to occur. Dredge's Iron Haven or Iron Rig DLC is coming soon. They already added 12 new achievements of it on steam and it's apparently been in testing phase for about a week. The staff seems really cool as they have quickly replied on the discussions often, even to people playing on gog but commenting on steam. There's also news of a Dredge movie in the works... https://www.reddit.com/r/dredge/comments/1bzsgxo/dredge_movie_announced/www.polygon.com/24124574/dredge-game-horror-movie

Haven't gotten to the Dredge content in Dave the Diver yet, but really liking the game despite the running the sushi bar at night not really being my thing, however creative and filled with funny stuff it is. The game is low-key based, parodying the crap out of stuff. I recently realized some similarity to Jaws for 8-bit Nintendo. If you have plenty of fun with that, you should love most of this game.
Also here's a good video of a real fisherman playing Dredge.
And here's a couple good music videos about Dredge:
