Basically, it is survival game with elements of RPG and sandbox. Something like "ARK". But you can slaughter pokemons (for EXP), capture them (and also humanoid NPCs as well), breed them, eat them and also make them work for you as builders, lumberjacks and miners. Also, PETA is crazy already about this project, LMAO.

It's like if someone took those old Newgrounds era flash animations about enslaving Pokemon and giving Pikachu a gun and made an actual game out of it. But it's also an open world survival game like ARK or Rimworld and has no actual story progression or narrative as far as I can tell.
I remember seeing a trailer for it like a year ago and thinking it looked funny but I could not have anticipated how big of a launch it would have. The game itself seems pretty boring so I'm interested to see if people are still playing it in like a year from now. Then again people love shit like ARK for some reason and that game is just about as fun as a lobotomy.

nobody knew about it, nobody waited for it, and it sells for 5 million copies. Sounds funny

Sounds funny The biggest streamer played it for his audience, was edgy and had neat ideas, and looked fun to the generation that grew up on survival games I guess.. Pokemon games have not been good lately either.. people started picking it up, would have ended there but then a huge outcry over the slavery aspect of beating things up and making them work for you happened over on twitter; they tried to cancel it... they also tried to cancel the author... AAA devs started bashing it... people wanted nintendo to sue them.. then it absolutely blew up. Game probably won't matter in a year.. but then again.. does it really need to? The guy who made it basically had the fun police do his marketing for him.. overexaggerating on the gameplay mechanics and making it sound like they were unique to this game. It introduced me to a content creator that made my day, hehe.

And the devs are getting death threats from crying commies
One of this guy's videos was extra hilarious with a clip compilation of all different beta testers reacting to seeing "In collaboration with SweetBaby" (who make absolute utter woke garbage where all woman have taken a mandatory beating with the ugly stick"
Anyway this Palworld looks like the ultimate Pokemon type game for people who like that. Personally I just never liked that style of cutesy cartoon creatures and it has no appeal to me. I still think it's hilarious what it lets you do and the mechanics of production in a FICTIONAL game, and especially how it's upsetting the pathetic.

Pokemon games have not been good lately either... Not surprised, since "Big N" have order for their inner studios to release 1 "Pokemon" game EVERY year. Now you can only imagine how worse and worse these games becoming, since they are on conveyor. Also it is fun that game for ~30$ can offer more that games for ~70$.

Yeah, apparently Nintendo NEVER thought of doing an open world 3rd person jrpg where you explore large areas and collect pocket monsters... imagine your friends entering your world to explore together in a world with the same aesthetics as Zelda BotW, catch rare Pokemon together, have bro moments and duel eachother... on a Nintendo budget too.. this has to be the biggest oversight in the history of Nintendo. Either way I'm happy for these creators tbh... with their shoestring budget, their buckets of usb flashes, haha.. they made something which the climate of gaming, streamers and social platforms aligned perfectly together in order for it to strike gold. Hopefully this forces Pokemon to do a 3 year project that doesn't devolve into a subscription based MMO with pay to win mechanics..
