Geeze I shouldn't be the one starting these threads  Spent my new years in an MMO, which in a healthy society would be viewed as sad, but then again it was kinda wholesome since I barely play those games anymore and got to catch up with my old gang.  Whenever I say "wow there's no possibility next year can be worse than the last" I get cursed with the worst year yet... so maybe somebody else can say that in my stead. Anyway, hope you guys have many more new years and that things work out for ya. keep up the good work.  |

I'm happy 2023 is over, I've had losses in the family, and thus a lot of grief. Nevertheless, I did a lot of traveling, I had success financially, and professionally, I helped create a cool mod that has become very popular, I learned a lot of interesting stuff. So I think I made the most of it that I could. The majority of the negative was stuff that was out of my control. |

2023 was an interesting year that is for sure. Changed jobs in May - really liked the people I worked with but it was just time to leave unfortunately because of the state of the company (the writing was on the wall for the IT department the way things were headed). New job is full of amazing people, and, for now, is free if politics which I have had to deal with over and over working in IT since 2020. So refreshing to just be able to do my job again without having to deal with current day nonsense too.

Why'd it take *this* long for someone to create a thread? Anyway I shouldn't be saying this since I could've created the thread but I didn't either. It was a waste of a year for me, just like 2022 and kinda 2021... though some big stuff's coming up which will change things drastically, so I'm focusing on that. It did have some good enough moments worth remembering, but it was overall shit. Anyway, happy new year everyone. deathevokation "wow there's no possibility next year can be worse than the last" pretty much described 2019-2022 for me, each year felt far worse than the last. And kinda off-topic, about spending time in a game being considered sad, why? Are you really gonna let society get to you? If you're having fun, that's all that matters. If real life had more interesting people you'd spend less time escaping it using games, so I don't think it's your fault. |

Thank you. I wasn't ready for the new year to come by so soon but I'll just have to make due with that now! Spent the new year's transition watching the DVD bonus shorts of an anime I never bothered to see 'till then. Meh, 2023 was one of those half-assed years that simply existed to start stuff that won't really git gud until the following year. So meh, it's gone, whatever. Have a good one y'all.
