I love metal, punk, and rock n' roll in general. But if it is bad, I'd rather listen to other genres. I really hate lame stock-rock music used for TV shows and what not. Douchey heavy metal riffs, with some stupid fat lump of shit biker reaving his retarded motorcycle. Fuck off Nothing is worst to me than bad rock music.

I have just as much of a hard time finding bad rock/metal as finding good modern pop, so luckily this doesn't bother me. That said I don't enjoy extreme subgenres of metal... yet, cause it's an acquired taste thing, it's only a matter of time before I do.
Also, that AI image doesn't look that bad IMO, though the guy is a bit too fat.

Seriously, what's with AI and fat people? I feel like our future overlords are trying to tell us something.
On topic, I agree there is a sort of 'shutterstock rock' that is used a lot, especially in man-shows like Pawn Brokers and cohort, that really grates the wrong way. The again, some progressive and very select black metal aside I've never been one for rock and derivatives - since I no longer need to chaperone my daughter to metal concerts, I pretty much stopped listening to anything that even resembles a power trio / quartet.

My friends would listen to a lot of grindcore. But most of it sounds like a cacophony of dog shit. The older I get the more I realize things I used to try to enjoy, really just suck. Music should sound good to you almost immediately.

I just think of fat and or oddly shaped scrawny trashy people from Florida, that ride around on an EV and have Coors t-shirts and camouflage. Looking like they're worn out from 50 years of drinking. Smelling like dirty laundry, on their way to the Applebee's.

Music should sound good to you almost immediately. I have had some things in the past which felt like shit initially but I really enjoyed later. For music, take Jonathan El-Bizri's MIDIs from TNT as an example, they were quite unconventional both in terms of arrangement and instrumentation, and sounded pretty weird in the beginning, but I found them pretty fun after just a handful of listens. So I do think acquired tastes exist in music. I do agree with how a lot of things that people try to enjoy just isn't for them, not everything is an acquired taste. For example, forcing yourself to like socialising all the time when you're an introvert, or vice versa.

At the time, if I tried to like it it wouldn't work. Though when you are ready to naturally like it, it will click. imo

You should copywrite that image quick before it appears on the next Five Finger Death Punch album. Nothing tougher and more hetero than anal fisting.

I'd argue that generic "rock" music is simply more embarrassing because of the nature of the genre. Rock'n'roll calls attentions to itself as it plays, it's kind of the whole point and the nature of the instruments involved and so it's alot harder to ignore or pass off as "nothing". Why rock "scores" are always the shittiest film music imaginable
