After fifteen years disorderly amassing lossless files in numerous HDDs, PDs and DVD-Rs I finally decided to put an end to such disarray, bring forth a proper structuring process and unify all tribes under a banner concise system. However none of that will be adressed now. First, lettuce talk about some cool shit. I assume most people that ventured onto non-lossy territory are more or less familiar with cue sheets. If not, take heed. I'll apply da three Ws, namely: Wut, UUai and VVër. “ What (is such)?” Basically, text inputs. “ Why (such exists)?” To log pertinent audio-assets' info and bridge said ass's with a-related applications. “ Where (such goes)?” Right here, close to dese nuts. Now that you know, moving on.. Upon acquiring sounds via totally legal means on the web or by actually accurately extracting such from a red book yourself, be sure as hell that Q will be present there aswell. But that begs the question. How useful it (factually) is? Not at all. Quite vital. Depends on how you listen or store music. More often than not such file will lie forgotten doing absolutely nothing but to leave folders a few KBs fatter. That'll be the case 'cos you likely got a range-rip that was splitted into individual tracks. Nevertheless, reckon that those tunes were once happily together in a CDDA - whom of which is made in the image of their lord, the almighty Vinyl. Thus if enjoyin' and/or preserving a particular album in its orthodox wae fullness is not your cup of tea, then '.cue' will be pretty much of no use and.. ..if you gonna be like that and jump the queue. No soup for you! Case closed. Go home. Live a sinful life with your mixtapes and workout playlists. We're through! As for the stunning 'n' brave thru-and-thru record enjoyers, tasteful collectors & faithful connoisseurs; you've got another thing cuming. In these dire times; full of faulty commitments, great uncertainties, STDs, etc - you may have had asked yourself the following question: How do I make my cú great again? And the answer for that is quite simple.. Just use it! Open it up then fill it to the brim! No reason to be shy nor afraid. Here, I'll share my method. Allow me to erect four walls around your wandering butterfly. Like this: That's how I roll babe. If in pieces, I revert'em musical fragments back into its whole. Then I use the digital papyrus to confer it guidance. Now we have significance, delineated perimeters and more than sufficient metadata. Magnifique. All that's missing 'tis a little touch of romance. So.. Nothing like some civilized latin to make intelligible such a barbaric language, am I right? Pardon my rudeness. I just prefer japanese pottery when I can actually grasp their phonology. Any written word that's far-removed from the romantic form looks alien to me. In those cases, I do keep an original fully imbued with their otherworldly lexicon but for conservative reasons only. Particularities do matters, after all - dontcha 'gree? Now that you're 'quipped with the illustration at hand, the formula to my monkey biz is this: cuetools > audio source (u can call the files by either using the og .cue, if provided, or create a dummy to do so) └revert whatever codec such is encoded with to a clean .wav └convert it to a dirty .ape, [insert extra darwinism joke here]
foo2K > tag └embed .cue whose contents are in non-romance idioms (I keep an external one fully romanized 2) └cover art also (very important!!!)
For anything above 16/44.1, I go: foo2K > save the list as an image album cuesheet └convert files into single .wav └etc..
Either way, the end result is.. When u drag the chimp onto a playa; all intel will be in the artist's congenital tongue but if the external .cue is used instead, stuff'll be in splendid Rome. Lastly. If all of this sounds really, raelly, ryllae retarded is because it assuredly is. namasté

Recently, in an unexpected turn of events; not only I found an earliest recording of Bea Nakkuru II's Dreamer's main melody but also the chief riff of one o' my favs tunes by K. Watanabe, both, contained in the exact same composition - datin' from way back in 1969! Source shall remain undisclosed for now.. the brain'still processing such findings accordingly. Small joy to have and also a significant material evidence to annex onto my upcoming case 'Every chord modulation and/or harmonic progression can be found in pre-contemporary Jazz history, period!' soon to be properly tested in tomorrow's drinking contest. For the record, I've got so much trash on my list already that I could drag Lars' arse into court by charging the anti-Napster hipster on plagiarism grounds and potentially win billions & billions of 'tallica money as long as the judge is a fellow freemason. I just won't do it 'cause the good Lord changed me but I definetely could do so otherwise.

Thanks to this, I finally know the exact purpose of a cuesheet. It was a pretty vague explanation but I think I got it. I unfortunately am guilty of being a mp3 user, but this is because of two reasons: 1. I am interested in way too many metal subgenres and I like going beyond the surface to discover obscure bands. For almost all bands that fall within the category of "obscure", you probably won't find vinyl rips. And a collection with half .mp3's and half .flac's sounds half-assed. 2. Even if vinyl rips were available for all of these, it would take me a fair bit of money to afford all the hard drives I'd need to store all of it. I still would need a lot even if I use mp3's, but the total size would be a third of what it would be if it was lossless. With that said, I am not guilty of being an unbased passive listener. I almost always listen to music actively, I even close my eyes to fully focus on it, unless I'm reading the lyrics. If I need something passive to listen to, I use white noise. Also lmao at the "trash" joke in the smaller second post.
