Love that the first thing you see on the download page is blurry smoothed sprites. Also thought it was going to be for Doom 2. Am I just misremembering?

Cool. Admittingly I haven't played the original sigil either so will be a good excuse to go through it too.

Glad he's doing something for Doom 2 though since I was honestly pretty bummed. Even tried launching it with Doom 2 as the iwad and was confused when it threw a bunch of texture errors.

Yes, I hope that Doom2 project sees the light of day eventually. There is only so much you can do with the boring Doom1 bestiary.

Yeah, I could have sworn it was originally stated that "One Humanity" was part of Sigil II - maybe Romero changed his mind and decided to make two separate projects? I think the announcement was on some Twitch stream or something. Romero's Doom II work is a bit hit or miss with me but I'm a bit more interested in the Doom II project than Sigil II since I'm curious to see what he does with the expanded bestiary.

SIGIL II is alright, a serviceable retro experience if you're in the 'mapping peaked in the late 90s' camp. Some maps are pretty good (E6M4, E6M9) some would probably fall flat if not for Romero's name attached to them (E6M2, E6M5).
EDIT: also just finished Eviternity 2 and I'm pretty sure this will go down as the year Romero got one-upped anyway. Easily the best megawad I've played in the past ten years or so, makes the original Eviternity look like wow.wad. I know I'm playing one for the ages when the best criticism I can come up with is 'the pitch bends in MAP04's MIDI sound weird'.
