Doom quiz game rules discussion

From time to time I have this desire to run and/or participate in a quiz dedicated to video games or specifically to some of my favorite ones, like Doom.
You know how it goes - someone asks a question and others try to answer. No hard rules except that it has to be somehow related to the games or the franchise as a whole, and it has to be a knowledge question that can be factually verified. Almost anything is fair - gameplay, lore, technical aspects, development history, merchandise, different ports and releases - if it's about Doom - you can ask it.
The first question you may want to ask is WHY? Why would someone want to have such a thread on the forums?
Personally, I find it fun learning bits of trivia about a game I like and then sharing them with others. It is also something that can help keeping a small community more active, as people want to come back to see more questions etc. Works especially well if at least a few active members want to participate and engage in healthy competition - for the reward of being the next quizmaster. This is how it is set up on one other forum I frequent (dedicated to a different game), and it has worked quite well for many years.
Ages ago, in what seems another lifetime, I've run a couple of such quizzes myself, even one about Doom, and these enjoyed somewhat nice participation for a while, then eventually died out. Maybe because I ran out of questions or lost interest.
Because of this I believe that the better approach is to have a changing quizmaster (typically the winner of the last quiz). However, on the chance that everyone here wants to play but no one wants to be a quizmaster, I will volunteer being the designated quizmaster myself.
Generally, for a rolling quiz to be sustainable it needs two things: a good number of active users with deep knowledge of the subject matter (which I'm certain we have) and a desire on their behalf to participate in such a game (that's the purpose of this poll).
What do you think?
