so what ive heard so far is that the physics engine has enabled players to do ridiculous things.
1. weight only counts when it's on your person: your spaceship has a maximum weigh capacity which requires the player to empty enough loot from their inventory before they are allowed to leave. However this weight only counts towards whats in your inventory. For some reason, you are allowed to dump the items on the floor of your vessel and then when you travel those items will still be in there with you.
2. stealing in plain sight: if you see some people gambling, you'll see their credits on the table. If you touch these, you'll invite a confrontation. However, if you place a laundry basket at the bottom of the table, then use another item to sweep the credits off the table and into the laundry basket, you can carry the basket away from the gamblers and collect the loot there.

I don't know, I've been reading up about this game and I still don't understand what it actually is. An RPG? a shooter? some sort of MMO? anyone care to redpill me?

fallout 4 in space (so i guess not much of an rpg or shooter) i think some people are simply surprised it's not horribly broken at launch

Not sure I will be playing this one. For me the instanced planets will make it harder to be immersed in a single world (this is why I can tolerate games like Fallout 4 - I love exploring it and delving into different buildings). Going to pass on this one until it is on sale for far less money and the mod community has fleshed it out - it is interesting how much nicer the inventory system already is for this game thanks to the modding community. Just waiting for Skyblivion to come out in 2025:
Edit: It is sad that I am looking forwards to a mod more than Bethesda's new ip. This keeps happening. It is so hard for game companies to make games that compare to these older titles for me, and in the case of Bethesda, they can't even make their game graphically compelling from what I have seen. The npcs are just awkward as hell. Time for them to drop this technology they have been using and try something else for the love of god.

i'm more hyped for tamriel rebuilt than for any big budget game coming out in the decades it will take to finish. tho this sentiment isn't unexpected in a 1994 game modding community
