Yup, great to see my carefully designed and balanced map violated by another 'I don't really want to play Doom but it's cool to say I play Doom' mod. Just fan-fucking-tastic.
Edit: apparently my map specifically is not played. Cold comfort, but I'll take it.

I could do without the walleye vision but definitely looks something to give people an alternate fitting experience. Classic Doom is always a good base for such stuff because it's such a fun game with fast movement speed, and simple features like teleporters that are so neglected in modern games because the industry just wants realism (even if realism is what that mod is going for). Guys doing Marine Doom better than marine Doomers. 25 years sure makes a difference though. I did fix that Marine1 map a bit in a collection of fixed maps for Werner Spahl's Theme Patch (AvTvP) plus a conversion of those maps for DBP Forty Eight. It's an interesting different experience having to traverse such a big wide open area. Its dehacked sets the player size smaller to fit through doorways and windows (and make you a smaller target with your measly 20 HP). I enlarged them for a normal size player and added insides to a couple solid rectangular block buildings. So there's tho se versions for anyone who wants to take and mess around with it and DBP Fifty Eight. EDIT: Or here's that just plain old marine Doom fixed up with yet more texture alignment than those AvTvP versions had but thing placement exactly as the original.

I did a little more work on the fixed marine1f.wad today. www.mediafire.com/file/qidu44s3adngplw/Marine1f.wad/fileCopied all my later sprites improvements back from Friday the 13th: Jason's Doom. And tweaked the map slightly. The entry TXTFIXES in the wad tells everything that was done since the original marine1.wad
