Lets gets some provocative thinking up in this bitch!
So which is it?
1.) I make the choices to blaze the trail of my destiny. My life is the sum total of all the choices that I made and everything I experience is influenced by the decisions I make for myself. Good or bad, I have some significant degree of control over all the events that happen in my life.
2.) My Life has been decided for me already. Whether through the power of a supreme being, alternate dimensions, or relativity, my life is just a train ride and I'm the passenger. Everything that happens, happens for a reason and is the inevitable consequence of the many chaotic variables in nature in which I have no control over.
According to the most recent scientific research, most of what I've heard seems to suggest it's much more likely that it is #2, than #1. However, I do believe you have a significant amount of control of what happens within each of our own limited perspectives. So I guess it's a mixed up chunky smoothie of both? I tend to do the majority of my thinking in the #1 pathway. It just seems like a more optimistic and challenging way to perceive things which makes life feel more worth living.

There's one thing in life, that's guaranteed, of which we have no control: Death
But in the mean time, I feel as though I can control the events in my life if I follow a number of steps to meet my goals.
For example, someone is born ugly. They may feel that their life is already made out for them, they will never be able to get an attractive girlfriend. However, if they're confident, take care of themselves, are proactive; They can land a 10/10 eventually. They can be "Jolie laide".
Or someone is not too bright; they feel that they can never be successful, because they just don't have the brains. Again, if they work with what they have, they can be quite successful. For example, Floyd Mayweather, doesn't even know how to read. He's not even a big guy either, but he managed to become a billionare in the sport of boxing. Same thing with Mike Tyson, a poor kid, from a terrible neighborhood in Brooklyn; he ceased the oppurnities that were presented to him.
There's many people that are born with the attributes that should make them successful, but perhaps through complacency, they amount to jack shit.
A big guy could just end up as a shit-kicking serf working in a warehouse. There's plenty of intelligent people that are so lost in life, maybe they think too much?
I find that people who are seemly less endowed in life, are driven more to be proactive to change their situation. They say the most dangerous people in the world are the ones with the least to lose; they're the risk takers.

I have OCD. Because of this, I feel there is always room for improvement. That's what every human being should strive for. To better ourselves physically, and to better our skills and ability to work, perform, cooperate and communicate effectively with others. To contribute. To strive for bettering the world through setting the correct example.
Of course nobody is perfect. The world is a pretty shitty place at times. Working sucks, aging sucks, some political outcomes and people in general suck... it's all very frustrating. But that's no excuse to give up and let yourself go. Don't become a victim of this shitty world, defeat it!
I agree with Kontra. It's important to seize opportunities and take advantage of what you can. I absolutely hated my current job when I first started. Despised it, and wanted to quit. Now? I really like it. Of course, I don't mean it's okay to become a workplace psychopath either. I'm sure we've all had that one boss, who can never take a joke. Who can never cut some slack, even for the most minor things. I don't mean taking perfection to those sort of extremes. But hey, taking pride in your work doesn't hurt either. Pursue something long enough, and things eventually get better with time and experience.
Never give up! Never stop dreaming. I am currently back in university, and have high hopes after I get my degree. I live in a low income area currently, but have a good plan to kick-start my future financially in the next year or two. I know success is possible, if you stay positive. And things are looking good for once, finally. If I can be convinced life isn't a hopeless waste, anyone can!
Interestingly, I am most productive when I am angry. Does anybody else feel the same way? I'm not talking about the kind of anger where you feel like punching someone. But the kind of anger that makes you want to logically try and change aspects of your life that bother you. A motivational discontent.
I'm reminded of the Public Image Ltd song "Rise". That whole bit with John Lydon screaming "anger is an energy". Okay it's kind of corny, but he has a point.
There's nothing wrong with reading things that make you angry. Why hide from it? That will only lead to complacency. It's important to stimulate our minds with things that stir up emotion. That makes us think and act. Channel that correctly, and it can be a powerful tool and source of inspiration.
That's my view of the world, in a nutshell. It's shitty, but beautiful at the same time. Don't censor thoughts. Let them be, and let people react to them.
