Ive been wondering what this guy has been up to. He released this on his YouTube channel a few months ago. Last I heard from him, he has been working on a Doom clone and was very focused on automatically generated content. I'm not sure what that means but this guy is hard to contact. I'm hopeful he will eventually find his way here and release a demo of Hell Superior at some point. |

I always liked Sigvatr. After he left Doomworld, I was friends with him for a while on Facebook, before we both left that social media site. It's good to see he's still around. I do hope he pops up on Doomer Boards.

Could a kind oldfag please explain to this n00b soul who is this Sigvatr guy exactly? I see his name fairly frequently in various corners of the internet but I never figured out why is he so popular. I only heard of the keyboard goop meme.

Sigvatr gave no shits and was moderately amusing. The guy straddled the line between 'ok dude' and 'ok dude who does severely mentally retarded shit simply because someone told him not to'.
Basically, Sig was, to all intents and purposes, a 2nd generation ED sperg. Not so much a DW troll, more in line with a shock jock.
I thought his webcomic was pretty funny.
No idea who he is today. But, since he still goes by the Sigvatr handle, I assume his brass balls remain undimished.

Last I heard he was trying to worm his way into Mechadon's high profile project, like it would never succeed without him. There was also some kind of bullshit that he tried to take credit for every major Doom release in the last decade, like they were all inspired by him. I don't think he's ever released a single map, so that's quite a feat. Stupid if he's trolling, utter bullshit if he really believes it. I don't think he'd be much value here.

He has a legacy of posts that reveal that he's into some pretty looney shit. He goes from 0 to 10 in the blink of an eye. I consider him a pretty capable person who makes the occasional inflammatory troll post or series of posts. It is hilarious when you get to know him and extremely off-putting when you don't. He developed a disturbingly xenophobic shooting game called Muslim Massacre and kept a leader board of "highest scoring" real life spree shootings on his website.
In terms of Doom I remember him really skirting the lines when he gave some really nasty reviews to some peoples wads. I dont remember exactly what got him banned. Did he link to his famous SA thread on doomworld?
He sent me a pretty deep private message where he explained his actions in doing that. I suppose I could paste it here.

I don't mind him, but I don't see the point of inviting him here. Even assuming he deigned to log in, it would only be three days before he felt compelled to do something outrageous to prove a point of logic and you'd be forced to ban him for it.
I can sympathize with that sort of thinking, and 9/10 it does expose some sort of deeper hypocrisy within a community, but who wants to be the janitor who follows that sort of shit around cleaning up in the aftermath?

I like to joke about being an evil supervillain who desires to cripple humanity's identity and spirit by bringing about the uprising of the superior machine race, but that's just me trying to digest the potential implications of my life's work with good humour. I might raise many difficult questions to ask and answer for humanity in its present state, but the pain will be temporarily necessary to unlock this paradigm shift's true, hidden potential, which is the merger of the strengths of human beings and our technology. Superior machine creativity, ingenuity and problem solving ability is not a threat to humanity's identity and spirit; but only by accepting the redundancy of fallacious human self-understanding and appreciation will humanity be able to see the wisdom in transhumanism.
Anyway back to my experiment. I have always firmly felt that my ideas, inspiration and ability to thrive in life are in no way whatsoever related to my reputation. With that in mind, I intentionally decided to, with full force of will, annihilate any prospects of having an even acceptable quality reputation. I know (and knew prior to embarking on this venture) from experience that many people in both the real world and the internet will never do business with or in any way whatsoever associate with me.
