I could elaborate further but then you're going to explain that you're an outsider again (round and round we go!).. also, he'd NEVER do a vid like this on someone if he didn't know said person's endgame. When he's addressing someone whose less abrasive he'll title the video "nice but misinformed feminist is wrong on a few things" or something and dismantle it politely... as opposed to when he's talking about someone like Steve who dishonestly slandered him by calling him a rape apologist and openly talks on Skype about how he won't even piss on bearing if he's on fire. Also, I have no clue why there's this uncharitable, undeserved and inaccurate stigma that people replace articles with Youtubers just because they watch Youtubers.. as if you can't watch videos AND read articles. Better still, watch Youtubers who post their sources in the description or address them directly by reading them while displaying it on the screen and giving their opinion. Watching videos and personalities is relaxing when I'm eating lunch. As for the "citation needed", he put a link to the original video in the description which should give you all the context you need so you don't have to be the guy looking in from the outside, it was an hour and a half stream, enjoy? I've been caught with my pants down way more often with professional writers than with Youtubers like Sargon who aren't beholden to a company.. in the Youtube communities they get corrected in their comment sections if they're being dishonest or wrong about something and people stop watching them if they turn the comments off... Sargon wouldn't be where he is now and such a big target for slander if he wasn't charitable enough to accurately and fairly represent the people who he's arguing against while making videos correcting himself when he's wrong. And this is something in general that I have a problem with; having a "bias" in itself is not a bad thing, but being complaining about "bias" in a highly biased rant? Another thing worth noting; this isn't a "fight" between left and right, it's a "fight" between center left and the snowball effect of a well organized authoritarian far left.. so goodluck middle manning and thinking that sitting on the fence makes you intellectually superior or something.. no matter how much ground they gain, there's never going to be a point in time where the far left activists are going to say "ok, it's enough.. the system is perfect now, we've achieved what we wanted and now we can disband" and you know it. I'm not an outsider anymore, but I still stand by what I was saying in my first reply. I think Steve had a point to make, period. That doesn't excuse the other stupid shit he stands for though, I agree. I was also injecting some of my own thoughts into the post, as general commentary about things I find problematic. Things Steve seemed to be hinting at as well, so I expanded on his point. Look, if you (and others) are able to benefit from channels like Bearing, that's fine. I know you can watch these people and still stay informed through other avenues of information as well. My issue is not with the fact that these shows exist, but rather with the fact that some people choose to *only* tune into these programs, and nothing else! Not everyone is like that though. You know the kind of person I am. I obviously don't support censorship of YouTube in any way. Still, the way that video was chopped up (combined with rude remarks) just struck a nerve with me. I get that Bearing is seen as this angry lovable guy to his die-hard fans, but rest assured not everyone sees him that way. How do you expect people to see him, when they don't know the specific details surrounding the drama? Like, I was beginning to sympathize with that Steve guy on some level. And I did try to get context beforehand, I guess it wasn't enough? I've since watched more of what Steve makes and yes, he comes across as a typical leftist snowflake. That being said, I agree with some of what he says. Most of his comments are dumb, but not all. Does that make me a middleman, for trying to understand his point of view also? I wasn't trying to be a middleman. I'm never trying to be a middleman with my posts. I like to think I always have a clear message in mind (and it's probably biased too, yes). Maybe that one particular video wasn't about right vs left, but I don't know how you can deny that growing trend in general. It is literally everywhere. I know that liberalism vs conservatism has always been a thing, but these days it's looking more and more like SJW-ism vs alt-rightism. And I mean that in the sense that both sides are being represented in ways that are more extreme than reality. A few bad examples ruining the image for everyone else, through media focus. Also, it doesn't help when YouTube (and other politicians) pander to the whiny demands of the far-left and ignore everyone else on the left who doesn't even want speech censorship in the first place. I know I was sounding pretty pretentious in those two long posts. I came back to them the next day and was thinking "ah yeah, that should have been toned down". But whatever, it's fine. I'm glad we had this discussion because I found it highly informative. You make many good points.

I'm glad we had this discussion because I found it highly informative. You make many good points. No worries about your previous replies, m8. : ) South Park IMO is really only as good as current events, I liked the season with PC principle and got a few good hearty laughs out of it.. but then again at the time the political discourse was such a joke that if you took a step back that you'd have to be really unfunny to not make something funny out of it. I haven't watched anything since because other things in my life are rough atm and I haven't even had time to watch B grade horror movies. I think another problem is that we've grown up, and shock humor loses it's effect when it doesn't shock you anymore. I already said it's my bad for taking for granted that not everyone knew Steve Shives and the abhorrent ideology he stands for, what I did is the forum equivalent of linking to a post calling out someone whose been shitting up an entire forum where said post alone looks uncalled for if you didn't understand that the guy he was flaming was promoting and dog whistling for something far more insidious than a few insults.. the target market of my post, and more importantly of the vid are people who knew him beforehand. The forum equivelent of the target market would be the entire forum, as the 'in joke' is a lot more well known than you think. It's mostly a case of when you start knowing your "opponent" after so long you start seeing through his dog whistles.. Anyway, after everything I've said, I really, REALLY appreciate that there's people like Seth Rogan who interview people objectively and even though he clearly knows the backround of the person he'd be talking to and might have a strong opinion, he'll hold back and play the role of someone who doesn't know him and let said person talk as if he was a stranger so that people in the audience who might not know said person can get introduced to him.. but the thing is though, Seth expects the guy to give his strongest argument.. applying Seth's approach to a shitpost video that was meant to be a shitpost video misses the point, and it's something that Seth certainly wouldn't do. He'd ask Bearing to start from the top, etc.. I remember another Youtuber involved in politics talking down on Bearing's audience in a similar way and how they need to get educated and get out of their echo chambers... and suddenly he lost a chunk of his own subscribers, moral of the story is that no one just watches Bearing, don't throw the word "echo chamber" around so casually, try to learn to be more charitable, and Bearing is really only someone you can appreciate after you already know what's going on, both on Youtube and on current affairs, anyway. If you want to move forward from first impressions I can try give a little context.. You should try not focus exclusively on tone and whether someone's rude or not, especially when as I explained, in other parts of the world, some words have much less impact or no impact at all and are part of everyday dialect, honestly, I find tentacle porn fucking disgusting but also found out how it originated as a result of censorship in the 1900's when Japan first opened up to the West (how the fuck tentacle porn was viewed as less taboo than actual porn is still amazing)... he uses terms like "stop being a thin skinned pussy", "don't take this personally".. "acting like a thin skinned pussy" is a problem especially now that we're getting laws based around protecting people's feelings that ultimately limit public discourse and what if there's a problem that pops up somewhere down the line, but we can't discuss because the media blurrs the lines between a past law and a current situation? There's also a difference between saying someone's acting like something and that someone is something. I prefer someone who calls my behaviour as acting like a cunt, pussy, faggot without putting venom into it (but is also someone whose willing to build a bridge if I wish to talk to him since he does reach out and debate his opponents on livestreams and privately and tries to find middle ground, someone who stopped a debate when his opponent said he wanted to commit suicide, cut off the livestream and counselled him offline as opposed to raking in them views).. than someone who smiles and says that I should have all my rights taken away, that I have no redeeming qualities and shouldn't have access to the internet or even go outside because I don't deserve to talk to people, someone who has successfully deluded himself into thinking that he's the only person who cares, so when he's talking about South Park making satire of "people that care", he's really only talking about himself... saying that South Park is playing the "middle ground" when they're making fun of people who want to kick everyone off the internet is utterly retarded, what South Park did there was not middle ground at all... and he had to chop the video up, because it was taken off an hour and a half stream. You can make good points but still have an agenda... Steve's endgame and punchline was more important to Bearing than his vanilla criticisms (most of which can be written off as subjective arguments, deliberately misrepresenting the people he disagrees with, or were made to appeal to emotion, anyway) of the franchise because well, his punchline made it clear that his criticisms were just there to soften up the target before he delivered his real reason. It's especially worth noting that anyone to the right of authoritarian left is a "troll" by default to him and ffs he just made a video about how Youtube should delete Pewdiepie's channel because he said something on another platform entirely. Bearing's language style is something I relate to personally, because honestly, I used to try talk in their language and express myself as politely as possible, however.. my most vitriolic responses ever were in response to my trying to express myself as inocuous and respectful as possible and wording myself as eloquently as possible, I tried to step on even less shells and one night stepped back after submitting a post I wrote for two hours and it looked at it and it was a giant fucking wall of nothing with literally no hook, on a topic I felt strongly about : ).. I had genuine intentions, my endgame was sharing info about the farm murders (orchestrated by a Communist party) in South Africa and yet I might as well have been a larping Nazi goose stepping while shouting simplistic slogans at no one in particular. I get accused of being a troll pretending to be a South African, getting tone policed with "it sounds like you're saying", getting "muh bad grammar" checked, and being accused having an ulterior motive... and if you respond to an accusation of racism you've already lost the argument, because you've given them power that they don't deserve and now the rest conversation will be a witchhunt and they'll declare victory without even presenting an argument. With more terms coming out defining different kinds of subtle racism and unconscious racism, eventually the best response is to stop giving power to them and stop taking them seriously, and saying fuck off and that you'll express yourself freely before proceeding to walk all over their micro aggressions and put your highschool slurs back into your vocab (you cunt ;P). Behind Bearing's own crudeness and shitposting is someone who finds the tactics and authoritarian endgoals SJWs (people who live by "there's no bad tactics, just bad people") have to be repulsive, with their trying to find ways to ruin people's lively hoods over wrong opinions, impersonating them by making fake blogs bragging about pedophilia and making sure their loved ones see it, writing letters to employers, or if someone's self employed like Sargon; writing letters to his wife asking her to divorce him, making videos gloating about Thunderfoot's dad dying of Cancer.. Bearing expresses himself the way he does because it makes him a target for them... but he also holds back when it counts. It was a breath of fresh air when I found him because it was during the height of some moderators on a forum going on a powertrip and a media/celebrity witch hunt on a standup comedian going too far when he was just saying edgy normie shit (reeeeee). : )

I hate being a dog owner - pt. 2
Not related to anything, but yesterday my dog, 11 years old, nudged a window open in my kitchen and jumped out into the back yard while the two of us were at work. With her separation anxiety, this isn't the first time this has happened while she was left home alone.
She landed on the concrete 5 feet (~2 meters) below, injuring her back legs. A neighbor found her limping in the back alley and brought her in. We had to collect our injured pet from her house. She is now having trouble standing up and walking up steps. It's extremely depressing for me already. If she doesn't live much longer, I don't think I could own another dog again. This is a very heavy conversation I have to have with with my wife that I don't think she's prepared to receive.

tfw when your night has devolved into scrolling through the comment sections of fight videos. God, I'm going to be spending a lot of time deleting my browsing history later tonight.
