Fun stuff, i found some textures misaligniments but this doesn't hurt my sensibility that much... - M3: Creepy, beautiful map! Probably one of the best i've played of your stuff! Got some strong vibes of good 90s map, loved the abstract dark town outdoors. Now, on the bugs i found: - I don't known if it's me that doing something wrong, but how the bars at the start can be opened? By shooting the other prisoner voodoo doll in the cage behind you? From the other side opens up the middle bar.
- The doors in this corridor doesn't open for some reason
- This other corridor isn't large enough to walk in, letting you stuck in.

Two of the bars at the start can be opened, but only on one of the four sides (might want to look in an editor). Those doors in the other corridor are opened by pressing the two torches in the winding staircase. And yeah I didn't even check if that last corridor was wide enough, just made it 45 units wide but forgot to take into account that it was on a diagonal lol. So I edited the map to make that corridor wider and added a demo to the zip: tod-dmp23-m3-edit.zip

I started "something". 'Should eventually turn into a small techbase on the rocks. I plan on adhering to the "no 3D mode" challenge and feel confident so far. Will continue eventually.

I cooked something up. No 3D Mode; No Testing! I will let it air out and spot check the numbers and textures on a later date. A funny thing that happens when mapping is when it decide to auto-fill textures or just plop STARTAN2 around randomly.

Oh yah... glad I didn't submit it last week. Could've swarn I did a good job. edit: fixed them. just need to pick out a midi and will then submit and... hope for the best and wait 'til ToD plays it.

Alright. Here it is: Name: Island of No 3D Mode Midi: Attack Ship - Covert Assault from Perfect Dark (sequenced by Joel Luben) Download: noisyvelvet_DWMP2023_IslandOfNo3DMode.zip (138.19 KB) I did get some much needed help from the Map Analysis Tool, which feels like cheating but does fall into my personal restriction of 'No using 3D mode'. I haven't booted the map up yet and will not touch it until ToD does. I will be interested in seeing how far off this map is from my mental image of it. Let me know if it's even playable.

Thanks for the submission nnn✓ork. The map is beatable with 100% kills and secrets so I've left it untouched. There was a spot where you can get stuck (if you go down into sector 212), but it's near the bfg secret that requires a tricky jump so I just left it as-is and anyone who wants to max the map can just avoid it. I did notice some noncritical stuff and cosmetic stuff but it's hard mapping with no testing or 3d mode and the map is playable so you should be proud. noisyvelvet_DWMP2023_IslandOfNo3DMode-noedit.zip

My baby is BEAUTIFUL!
-The beginning was supposed to be quiet and ambient and unfold slowly, but pretty much everything on the map wakes up right away and it's a front-loaded brawl. -Alignment issues everywhere. -The random STARTAN2's that show up here and there are hilarious. -So many heights are messed up. --Cacodemons frozen, the same cave isn't even fully closed and supposed to open later. --56 high doors only open 50 units, so you can't even go through some doors, but thankfully I lucked out by having the other wall drop down. --I goofed up some crate alignments, and fucked up the crate stair leading up to a much desired rocket-launcher. --final exit area has a revenant teleport in early. --The north secret area has all sorts of heights messed up, ---That terrace should be like 64 units higher, and much more subtle of a secret. ---The chaingunners are supposed to be in a trough that you expose, not exposed to the central hub's terrace. ---multiple wrongs here made a right w.r.t. accessing the BFG secret, which on their own would've made the area inaccessible but instead make it accessible, just in a different way... but still resulted in a softlock area.
And the map is still mostly functional 😎

Yes, you just make a map according to the rules and post it, then I'll compile the maps after the deadline. But the rules are very specific and must be followed

Thanks for a submission from tonytheparrot in a pm on doomworld. There were some bugs with the lowering floors and the exit wouldn't lower, so I joined some of the sectors, added wall textures, and fixed the exit. Thanks for another submission walterc (with another interesting restriction), there are a couple missing textures but it was fully playable with no need for editing. I couldn't tell if the mid texture on the first door was a bug because of the new editor or intentional, but it worked and I thought I was trapped in the room with the imps slade-to-the-riddim-noedit.zip

Name: Cavern level Build time - less than 2 hours, no 3d mode No 3D Mode. Also, I noticed that in DSDA-Doom 0.25, and only that version (and only in complevel 21), that there's a rogue zombieman that counts as 36/ 35 kills, but in Chocolate, PrBoom 2.5.1.3, and a newer DSDA-Doom shows 36/ 36 kills... Spooky bug that may/may-not be still relevant, just in time for Halloween.
