When I first played heretic I thought the wings of wrath were "wings of wraith" (a ghost or undead like figure) which IMO sounds like a cooler name.

Well, the resolution is atrocious, so "Picked up a CLIP" looks a lot like "Picked up a GLIP". Whatever a GLIP is.

It is really stupid when source ports have the text so damn so small by default while the resolution is high. And then it's not always easy to find the setting for it. The worst case is when you jump into an online game and it's hard to see what people are saying if you even notice their messages.

This isn't a misreading of the item name per say but when I first saw Heretic's ring of invulnerability, I thought it was a head not a ring. lol.

I told him that it's he ofc is wearing pants, but light leathered for some reason

I discovered the real one a lot later. First I asked dad if heretic came out before doom 2, why it had a double barreled crossbow?
He said like weird, and at that point I started having doubts that it was the real one but didn't want to believe. And not in a short time I got to downloading heretic as a dos game,and not just a wad from some site with doom 2 wads like d2xtreme and stuff.
I played the real one, it's cool, but I'd prefer Heretic TC
I still associate Heretic with NIN midis.

Hey you're right, that HERETIC.WAD is cool. The only bad thing is they didn't change the pickup names, so you grab the crossbow and it says "you got the shotgun", heh. I extracted all the lumps with DeuTex and there's a DEHACKED in there, but it only changes the level names.
I guess it would have been even better if they made the crossbow shoot a projectile, but that would require some real DeHackEd wizardry.
