I need some help with this issue. I was testing some of the maps that i made, and at some point they begun causing my PC to freeze with no way to exit Zandronum. I suspect it's something wrong with the resource WAD included. Anyone experienced something like that before? It also seems specific, i tested Limit removing maps that i made, and they play fine. But BOOM-compatible ones freeze my PC.

Try them in a different port is all I can suggest.
Does it freeze in the same place each time or is it random?

1.) Does the PC freeze completely or is it just Zandronum? Meaning could you press CTRL+ALT+DELETE or CTRL+ALT+SHIFT to reach the task manager? Or maybe press ALT+TAB to switch to another program?
2.) Is there an error message?
3.) Do you have the same problem with other maps?

Have you tried sucking my (content removed)? I heard it helps.
Zandro-Cum probably makes an error log file somewhere when things like this happen. Look into it maybe?

Dunno man, all of my PC freezes, and i have to unplug it from the outlet for it to be normal again. Zandronum probably has no time to make an error-log file.

Send your wad file and name the exact Zandro-Cum version you're using. Otherwise we have exhausted all options we can reasonably think of.
It's possible that your computer has faulty RAM and the wad is somehow triggering it. I've never heard of any Doom source port freezing a machine up completely on its own.

Yeah, that sounds very strange. Did you put something special into the boom-compatible WAD files @shibainumaster ? Apart from the regular stuff I mean. Also - get another source port like Woof and try your WAD with that one. You should also try some other WADs (which work) in it for good measure. Woof for Win32-bitWoof for Win64-bit

Holy shit you're right! I downloaded the latest stable Zandronum and your wad, then loaded up doom2 map01. It freezes completely, and shows up on top of any other program! For the record I run Win11 too. However you can quit it, or at least I can. First, press Win+Ctrl+D to make a new virtual desktop so that you get away from Zandronum. Now you can open Task Manager via ctrl+alt+delete or ctrl+shift+escape and kill zandronum.exe.
If you ask me this is definitely worth a bug report on the Zandro-Cum forum. I've never seen something like this. Now if you don't mind, I'll be deleting that aids from my computer...
UPDATE: the issue is somewhere in the texture1 lump, deleting it from the wad makes it boot up fine. That's as much research as I'm willing to do, figure out the exact problem yourself.

Oh thanks man, now i understand what happened.

Previously (and on any Windows that does not support virtual desktops), I'm just used to navigating the process manager blindly with the keyboard: typing the first letter of the process name, then Delete, then Enter, and hope it's the correct one (90+% of the time it is).
