Do people do this? I guess some of his maps such as sf2012 map19 do have crazy texturing but even that map has some really cool sector work (the triangular sectors I always liked for whatever reason). Then there is map29 in the same wad which has some amazing looking areas and a lot of great midtexture work.
Definitely one of the rare authors which has his own style.

Killer5 It's not uncommon, I've heard it a couple times just this summer alone. Once about 10x10's secret map and another time about Occula's secret map. I'm not totally sure why. I love his style though.

TimeOfDeaths maps made me appreciate lighting, UV-Max demos and large scale architecture in a way no other mapper has.

I don't mind, but I'm not sure why people would say that: ^ OMG!1! THE MAN, THE LEGEND IS HERE. BOW BEFORE THE KING BITCHES!!!!!!!! I'm not a big fan your maps btw. But old farts seasoned veterans in the community such as Ribbiks praised your work, so I guess I'm just a noob and didn't play enough of them. :/ |

nicolasmonti or possibly nicholasm10 (whose work I've been a great fan of ever since Deimos Immaculated) has been accused of being the doomer version of Picasso. While his maps definitely evoke a surrealist feel (much of it probably through the choice of music and lighting) I'd say that you come closer to that title, TimeOfDeath . Cubism hell.

I don't mind, but I'm not sure why people would say that: Heard your name come up a few times but don't think I've played any of your maps. Judging from the screens and that vid of ppp.wad I think I'll be changing that. Considering this tread was started on my bday and I noticed your name as the newest member right after I signed up I'll use that as an excuse to say I feel obligated to check out some of your stuff now. Is there a map you would recommend to someone who hasn't played anything you've made before? |

I've been accused of not knowing what a good time is so jokes on me. Guess I lied though. Skipped around in esp.wad after playing a bit of map01 and recognized maps 4, 7 & 14 from the starts. Think I played them 3 or 4 years back and probably played a few more I'm not remembering. Vaguely recall enjoying them and was liking what I played of map01. Also enjoyed the obvious Quake layouts I noticed when skipping through. Nothing I'll be trying to UV-Max from the look of it though.

TimeOfDeathGreat screenshots, can't wait to play whatever it is. Thanks for the PPPP video I'm gonna have to check that out so I can finally finish. Peter Perv is probably your finest release IMO.

These maps are actually really fun in coop. I host them as a part of a slaughter map compilation on my servers all the time. Just goes to show that aesthetics may sell someone on downloading it because 'oh, look, pretty'. but won't necessarily be fun or retain the player into enjoying the maps over and over again. |
