Because there is a limited amount of storage space, in regards to hosting images; please use sites such as imgur.com/ to post pics. The BBCode is perfectly compatible with the forum. |

Super duper mega bump.
Discord was good for image hosting for a while but they changed stuff in recent months or so (they require some weird keys in the image urls that also expire after x time). I had a begrudgingly made a private account there but now all my cross-site image posts are missing. So much for that.
For some reason I decided to avoid Imgur a while back, but I don't remember why... But funny enough, a lot of images from there were disappeared a while back too. Not sure if it's the same for registered accounts there.
In-board posting-n-hosting is always limited for space/cost/simplicity reasons.
Meh.
I wonder what all the other options are. For shitposting dumb images on esoteric message boards, that is.

I just dusted off an ancient imgur account I hadn't used in about ten years since I had no reason to post images anywhere until helping with the dbp testing. Didn't have anything disappear as far as I could tell. There are plenty of sites that don't require an account, some that have been around a while like postimage but I couldn't speak to their reliability.
