Ah. See when you phrase it like that people will tend to be a little bit rough on you by assuming your here for attention. Just know that I think you're not even here for that, you just wanna post maps and shit. However if you were just responding to criticism with negativity and sperging the fuck out. People aren't gonna take you seriously.
Trust me I've seen some shit where some dude was issuing out death threats like it was christmas eve and was surprised to why everyone didn't take him seriously when he tried to make ammends.


As for the wad in the video. I'll be blunt its not a good idea for a Doomerboard project since I think the wad tend to keep it very vanilla as close as possible. It could work as a simple little project. Just get rid of or limit the custom weapons and enemies and it could be a fun little pack to go through.

Jesus christ if i dont get to a thread in less than 12 hours, the forum members will not miss a chance to bully them out. It is really depressing and I think Im going to need to purge this place pretty soon. Thanks for the suggestion. The weapons look cool. DBP is primarily a mapping project first and foremost, we are probably not going to design a DBP around a gameplay mod again anytime soon. Its really difficult and uninteresting to mappers.

I really like the idea of pairing gameplay mods with DBPs. I think its fun to try and figure out what kind of DBP mapping themes work well thematically with the monster/weapon substitutions that come in gameplay mods.

I do think DBPs and gameplay modifications (new weapons, abilities, monster replacements/randomizers) can work well together. Ive seen some pretty cool videos of gameplay mods paired with DBPs that really enhanced the experience.

What I have found however is that designing maps around a gameplay mod is not very fun or interesting to level designers. The mappers and testers are skilled at what they do because they are so familiar with the existing Doom 2 assets. When those are changed, it takes a lot of time to get good at knowing how to use those new things and thats a lot to ask from mappers who make maps in one month.

I also know a lot of DBP fans do enjoy the vanilla monsters and weapons, unmodified, so id like to give them that option as well. I do have a proposition for you though.

Are you open to refining this into a standalone gameplay mod? That would mean that any new weapons and monsters would substitute existing Doom 2 assets, and you could play it independetly without new maps. I wouldn't mind coming up with textures and a mapping theme that would complement it.

The mappers and I could design vanilla maps with the new texture theme, and when its finished you could run the gameplay mod and the maps together. I think thats the best way to get what we both want. Does that sound fair?
