My flag-ship mod, Aliens the Ultimate Doom has been in beta 9.2 since 2016. Above is an older version from beta 7.0 or so, back when the blood was green. (Though I actually did advance the gameplay mod a bit in 2017 when I re-made Justin Fisher's Aliens (TC).) I had temporarily suspended production, because I used it as the basis to create Aliens Trilogy (UD). Which was later used as the basis for the instant classic by payload4367 , Aliens: Eradication. Which in my opinion the the optimal iteration of the gameplay mod, along with superb maps. In the spirit of Aliens: the Ultimate Doom, there is NO time-restriction. Again, there's no time restriction, so this will be an easy going project. Here is a much better example of the custom textures and flats I created (all original). Unfortunately this map has been lost forever because that PC had died.

New ideas I have in mind:
-Re-skin Steven Seagal from DBP#48 to become an Android (enemy actor) that uses melee attacks.
-to have a more natural look, have the eggs initially splatter decals of the biomechanical-hive resin in a star formation similar to a blood splatter. Which would probably look a lot better when overlapping on the base textures.
-I want to re-do the Dog alien sprites
-I want to re-do the Drone alien sprites (simple swap of the dome on the ATC 9.5 warrior) maybe scale it down a tiny bit to further distinguish them.

This is actually crazy because I was playing this in the morning today after checking out your other mods. Worked fine for me too, all the decorate stuff is perfectly portable between ZDoom-ports.
Maps I can do.

This is actually crazy because I was playing this in the morning today after checking out your other mods. Worked fine for me too, all the decorate stuff is perfectly portable between ZDoom-ports. Maps I can do. Excellent! I myself will try to work on the art-side of the project, improving upon and adding more sprites. Some of them deserve a redo imho too.

I was also thinking we can play with the difficulty to create different modes for actor placement.
"traditionally" Aliens:UD has always used randomized spawners for enemies and pick-up
I propose we create one mode that has set-pieces, and one that has the randomized spawners. I know some people are adverse to random-spawners, but I like them particularly, because it shakes things up.

I think slopes will be a must for the authentic alien corridors, so probably UDMF.

Here is an older version that had all of the aliens game OSTs as well as alien-esq OSTs from other games. From this version we can pilfer the soundtrack, I don't recommend using it for anything else. Some of the OSTs sound a bit video-gamey, and not too atmospheric. though some of them are really cool imo.

A goal of mine will be to add more custom textures. There's already a lot, but I'd like to create even more. Especially if we are doing custom levels.

Here's a very rough version of Aliens:UD I built out of DBP48, since the 9.2 beta has a lot of replica entries I need to prune out to allow it to save in slade. Though don't judge it based on hold-over assests from DBP48, they're going to be replaced with the proper assets. This is simply to showcase the new sprites. Btw, I upscaled the Xenomorph Warrior sprites by 300%, and applied a despeckle filter to it. It does look better, but it is relatively unnoticeable. Plus gzdoom already has a feature like that. On top of that, the enemies move so fast, you can't really tell.
This shit took me all day yesterday, all 251 frames. so, I'm going to keep the new sprites and move on. It is an improvement, yes. But not as dramatic as I hoped.
