Doom has been ported to Helios. The post for it is here. The port is done by Drew DeVault. Perhaps some source port programmers can check it out? What do you guys think?

Have to say, it is quite impressive, not the port per-se but the hacking required for the dependent C calls for their Kernel. Good idea to use Doomgeneric too, since there's no need to substitute the old assembler routines for C ones etc.. it is all done. Though I wouldn't consider it a 'complete' port since only that level works and it will otherwise crash, but it is great at demonstrating the 'absolute minimum' to at least play a level of Doom. Since they used it as a design proof of their kernel, this probably suffices for the task they wanted.

Indeed. Doom is really a "videogame" videogame.
I want to play with the OS if it gets finished. It would be nice to play some DBP's on it.
