Strange coincidences and other phenomena?

This is not exactly a coincidence but something close to that.
I was playing again Dark Souls trying to farm one last item, a silver shield from some knights, to complete an achievement.
Anyway,. this was so rare, I was trying for an hour and after so long, one enemy dropped an item but wasn't the shield. But it took an hour to see one item! Very Rare frequency.
I then search on the internet in a reddir forum and someone asks the same thing, how to get it, it's sooo rare and he is trying for 2 hours.
People just said it's RNG Jesus man, just try and you will eventually get it.
Here is the thing, he comes back and says "Wow, after I read your comments, I continued trying and the very next attempt I got the rare item".
Then another guy replied below. "Wow I was trying for 4 hours, never dropped, then read this thread, went back to continue farming and first attempt got it!"
People were begging as a joke for the guy to give them luck
Here is the thing now. I go back after reading, I don't get it immediately, but in 2-3 tries I get a lot of other silver weapons from them. Then I also got the shield!
It's not that I got it. It's that previously the frequency of these enemies even dropping items were something like 1 in 20 or 50. After reading the forum and coming back, joking in my mind something will happen to me like the other guys, the frequency was like 2 in 5! I really noticed an obvious jump in frequency after reading the reddit thread, like the other guys got the item. If I got the shield item once, I'd say coincidense. But I had proven 1/20 or 1/50 let's say (don't know exactly) frequency for 1 whole hour of farming, then suddenly it's like 2 in 5 items dropping, one of them finally being the shield.
Maybe silly for a coincidence, but will make me think tonight.
