You are dead. A menu appears: - New Game: Respawn as a new, random living being.
- New Game+: Respawn as a new, random living being, adjusted for your accumulated karma. (It is unspecified what karma is, what yours is, and by what method it is determined).
- Load Game: Respawn at a random birthday from your life. You will have no knowledge that you have reloaded from a save.
- End Game: Oblivion.
You have 30 seconds until game over. What do you choose? |

Load Game > New Game+ > New Game > End Game
The only hard part would be deciding where to load from.

 Can i input cheat codes and/or use cheat engines? (Konami code, gameshark, gamegenie, etc.) If i choose New Game or New Game+; can i keep grinding until i get the live-form i want? -or- It's a one-time-only deal? In other words; if i pick any of those and die again, i'll be greeted by another menu screen along with the same options? The Load Game also seems to be pretty broken; since i can pick and choose the birthday of my preference, then, i can basically restart my existence all over again by picking the very first one. Furthermore, according to these rules, death means: being stuck on a "continue?" screen for about half a minute until the bartender shuts down the arcade cabinet - which implies being denied of any choice after the time expires, correct? So what difference it would make in selecting End Game? 30 seconds later, oblivion will come either way. The only plausible reason i see for doing this is to shorten the annoyance caused by hearing a hypothetical continue? tune looping for 30 seconds. Also regarding the usage of the word Oblivion, did you meant by that: being erased from existence? If so, then am i not already experiencing this "plane of non-existence" until i make my choice? In other words; it seems that i'm already "non-existing" somehow, until i make my move in 30 seconds to exist again. But if by Oblivion you've meant "bringing forth the End of the World"; then how i would possibly know that the world actually ended? I mean, wouldn't my current non-existing conscious self also be annihilated at the same time that i've choosen this? That imo is the worst one.. as it denies me of any chance of savouring the moment. At least grant some live feed of the world going to shit first. |

You can try again, but you will never know you were ever at the options menu. So you can't accumulate knowledge in that way. Right, I changed it to be a random birthday. Otherwise you can just save-scum like you said.  That's right. End game just spares you 30...well, 29, 28, 27...more seconds of agony. Oblivion is instantaneous nothingness. The part of you that can think and feel is erased forever with no chance of reappearing. |

Nah, I'm really willing to alter my past. Cheats are disabled, and even if they weren't, what if I was killed in the fucking prison, has lost the limb prior to the kill or whatever? And if cheats weren't disabled, all depends on what cheats are available. I mean, with the cheats you might as well kill script that implements the timer, warp as the lifeform you desire, etc. It is not as fun to answer this question if cheats are allowed.

heh, even tho you've nerfed the Load Game option, i'll probably pick that anyway. I would prefer a more safe route, you know? My memory card might be dusty and filled with corrupted save files, but they are mine corrupted save files nonetheless.
I just hope that i don't land on any birthday that my dad recorded. The old fart always made everyone uncomfortable running around with that shitty camera. I've no doubt that if my father has been born in this generation; he would be a filthy tik toker.

Hmm, perhaps as you define yourself that is true, but see it this way: if I poke myself with a stick, you feel nothing. If you poke yourself with a stick, it is a different experience altogether for you because you feel it. The same "you" that can feel the poke would exist in this new form, so every "poke" is still felt by the thing you call "you." |
